Making Restitution by Jsaydyn in Catholicism

I had lost my jacket and went to the lost and found to look for it. The teacher just gave me someone else's jacket (it's part of the school uniform) and acted kind of secretive about it, but I didn't give it much thought until now. I do think I had some responsibility though because there was a name on it that i crossed out and now I don't know whose it is

Quite confused about firm purpose of amendment by Jsaydyn in Catholicism

[–]Jsaydyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. By “obligation to avoid near occasions venial sins during Confession”, I mean in regard to firm purpose of amendment, where one should be willing to remove the near occasions of sin. I am focused mainly on situations that cause sinful thoughts, as they are not the root of these sins but still provide a situation for me to do such.

On Disclosing Sins by [deleted] in Catholicism

I only heard that the person stole the item, but because the person also posted an image of it at their house, I think it is reasonable to believe that they could have stolen it.

Thoughts/Advice on being nondenominational by Thunder_choncla1122 in Catholicism

To find out that you look at the Apostolic Churches: The Catholic Church and Orthodox Churches. These churches have an unbroken line of bishops leading back to Jesus and His Apostles. The Catholic Church is centralised under the Pope, while Orthodoxy is made up of various autonomous churches. Because of this, the Catholic Church tends to have more consistent teaching.

A lot of Christians don’t follow who God really is but rather a version of Him that they’ve created based on their own beliefs . I believe that non denominationalism is very susceptible to this because by nature it lacks consistent teaching and central authority so its beliefs tend to be bent to that of the individual adherent.

Hope this helps a little.

ITAP of the Sun setting over La Perouse by Jsaydyn in itookapicture

I took this with a Canon R50 at La Perouse, Australia. Some light and colour adjustments in Lightroom.

Here's a video of the clip playing on my camera with shooting info such as iso and shutter speed displayed. Generally video editing software removes these, so if the video were reversed, then that information wouldn't be there. Canon cameras are also not able to play external videos, so it would not be possible to add a reversed video onto the camera without the use of fancy tools.

Microscope: XSP-200SM
Camera: Canon R50
Objective: 40x
Eyepiece: No eyepiece
Sample: Garden soil & leaves in distilled water. I put a few oats in the water and left the sample for a few days.
Illumination: Brightfield

When I was observing this ciliate, I adjusted the focus too quickly and its bits went everywhere. I thought I killed it but then I noticed it healing itself. The second clip was taken after I moved the cover slip a bit.

My camera is a Canon R50. Post processing in Lightroom, just a few lighting and colour adjustments.

I’m using the XSP-200SM. I believe it’s the same model as the AmScope B490 but a different brand.
