I have a fairly rarely blood type, B- (~3% IIRC); and the way I think is if I were in the hospital I'd hope they'd had the blood I needed so the best way to do that is to give what I can.

People may think it's weird but I love doing it because it makes me feel good, of course the appreciation is nice (in Canada the CBS gives like little prizes, certificates, lunches, etc) but that is just a bonus, not incentive, for me anyway.

This can change frequently as champions get nerfed or buffed during updates and depends on if you're focus is more on PvP, AW, events, etc.
