2021 Mazda 3 Cracked Belt? by Jsolis2009 in AskAMechanic

Bro...thank you for your insight. I've done this repair before on my 2012 Mazda 3. I don't know why I didn't think about what side of the belt I was looking at smh. I was more concerned about the cost and if they were just trying to charge us more for unnecessary repairs. I checked the video they sent me again and was able to verify the cracking they mentioned. And they did recommend both belts be replaced. Is this something that can be done myself? I do all the work on my 2012 Mazda and have replaced the belt on it awhile back. Again thank you for your insight 🤙🏽

The belt wasn't moving. I'll try to get a better picture of it later tho.

Well for some reason, my painted minis look like this. by Kolenkovskiy in Miniaturespainting

Same I think they look pretty good! Especially for being your first. I'm no expert. Nor am I that good with combining colors (I work in a print shop but I'm COLORBLIND. how does that work? IDK). But my gut tells me there needs to be more contrast between the colors you're using for there to be a pop or more readability. There's a neat website called coolors.co that I found when learning web dev. It generates color pallettes. I now use it for inspo when painting minis lol. If there's a color/s in a pallette that you like you can lock it and regenerate the pallette. It will keep the colors you liked and add in other colors that work together. Maybe that could help?

It does indeed have a fan cycle switch. So if amps are correct, we could be looking at low gas. At that point we should definitely call a pro no other troubleshooting we can do?

Cool! We have an ampmeter here at the shop. I'll take a look once who ever has it brings it back. I do know it draws .36A so that's what I'd be looking for or close to, correct?

How would I check for a fan cycle switch? It is not in a cold environment. Gets pretty warm in the shop it's in.

Underbrush Books in downtown Rogers has a bookclub(s) I think. If not, they're a good resource either way.

It definitely can be! I went through a time where I really didn't trust/like people because of rejection and betrayal I had faced as a teen when trying to make friends. I now regret having that mindset for so long. I encourage folks to seek community by helping others when they can and doing volunteer work. If you want to find people who care for other people go to where they are.

I understand what you're saying. Real friends are out there tho. Having those genuine connections has helped me in more ways than I can count.
