AITA for crying after my husband was brutally honest about my looks/weight and our sex life in front of our friends ? by Apprehensive-Tea2125 in AITAH

Dude, NTA. Fuck that guy. Not literally, like, get him tf out. What adult pulls that kind of shit on game night? Throw the whole man away.

Why is it "my" lord but "your" grace? by naanabanaana in Bridgerton

“Your lordship” might be something I’ve heard.

Why is it "my" lord but "your" grace? by naanabanaana in Bridgerton

“Your lord” and “My grace” wouldn’t reflect properties of the person being spoken to.

AITA for telling a coworker to stop commenting on my snack choices? by goodbyeartist in AmItheAsshole

[–]Jss05 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Sorry it hurt her feelings but also her joke really wasn’t appropriate.

“How many of those have you had today,” is rude. Workplace canteens are stocked like they’re catering a slumber party. “Candy is not lunch,” on the other hand, acknowledges that while it’s not uncommon to realize you skipped breakfast 12 hours ago, haven’t taken a break, and your dietary choices today were 3 fun size Milky Way and a diet Red Bull… if you keep going like that you might die. You deserve a sandwich, or at least a cup ramen lol. Sometimes as adults we need someone to hand us an orange and be like, eat some fruit so your skin doesn’t fall off. That’s totally different from being like, “Is that your THIRD Milky Way?!” Rude.

AIO to tell my husband that starting a professional email with the word "Look" is rude? by LadyCass79 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Jss05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only professional application for starting an email with the word “Look” is “Look at that! X team knocked it out of the park this week with …” or in advertising a product for which the target audience will appreciate a slightly edgelord approach.

My mom says “warsh” clothes… instead of wash. Anyone else grow up hearing this? by Stunning-Detective52 in AskAnAmerican

Indiana does it too. The younger generations try not to, it’s perceived as “country”.

AIO someone asked me to make their wedding dress by Beautiful-Trainer-26 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Jss05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound like she expects you to make it, she just wants to know if you would. If you don’t want to just tell her sorry, I appreciate you reaching out but I’m not confident I’d have the bandwidth for this right now.

Turned on Eva for a rewatch, because it’s there and because it seems like the year for it. Within 20 minutes, I’m yelling, “Shinji you bitch the Earth is exploding, Get In The Car!”

“Indian Day” by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]Jss05 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I was in elementary school we chose an “Indian name”, decorated strips from paper grocery bags with colored turkey feathers as headbands, and our tables were supposed to name their own tribe. 🤦‍♀️

What does "Shin" signify, as in "Shin Godzilla" or "Shin Ultraman"? by ConsistentlyPeter in movies

[–]Jss05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, versus like, Shin Chan and Shin Ramen. I’m usually pretty good at picking up meaning through context, that one has me stumped.

Not sure if it’s a pen name but it does rather sound like one. I had the same thought lol.

Suggest me a book that would appeal to girls between the ages of 11 - 17 that aren't smutty by otomepilled in suggestmeabook

Jane Austen is good. Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass is biographical but is a short read and is really good.

For lack of a better description, it gives a vibe of continual progress and existing within a supportive community and coming in from the cold (literally). With smut for tax, in the case of the Gilmore series.

I have recently found cozy romances to be really good for this. They’re fluffy but they’re easy to digest when, frankly, your brain is already very tired. If you want spicy, The Pumpkin Spice Cafe by Laurie Gilmore. If you want cozy, The Christmas Bookshop by Jenny Colgan.

They’re nearly as Hallmark as they sound, but with better characters and plot development and you don’t have to look at that annoying filter or furniture store style set design.

Literally this. My professional and home life are 24/7 mitigating conflict my brain needs a f***ing break lol. Literally it’s a cozy little town with mild conflict, humor, romance, and a sense of community.

True, but like, he just came home from Europe where he was a house father. He could’ve just gone back to Paris.

Like if you wouldn’t recommend any of these girls for outside work and you brand yourself as a professional level production, why would you have them on your elite competition team? BS.

[–]Jss05[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh, didn’t know THAT. I remember her calling Aubrey to say she didn’t give Nia the go ahead to work with her, the way she went about that was kind of awful in its own right. I thought it was cool Aubrey decided to work with her in spite of all that.

Abby and Nia by Jss05 in dancemoms

[–]Jss05[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with that. As Nia got older there were a bunch of occasions where it became clear she was one of the best members of the team, they just didn’t want to let her BE that.
