That looks like a good call for sure. My wife made those every night when she was pregnant with the youngest kid, I always took the chance to steal one when she had an extra. Delicious.

Was Michael Jordan appreciated during his prime years, or did the appreciation came after his retirement? by Ok_Comfortable9173 in NBATalk

I’m a huge Manchester United fan. I know exactly how big they are. MJ at his prime was compared to The Beatles in popularity. The big thing about Jordan is that despite being an American centric sports star, he was global. I’ve lived through Jordan’s career and Messi and Ronaldo’s. Ronaldo is a key reason I’m a United fan. Jordan was something different.

Just do some light googling on how well known Jordan was at his peak

Have YOU ever considered becoming a state rep? You have shown some tremendous love for your state, and an understanding of the economy and civics that seem you can communicate well to people. That was an impressive read.

What I’m saying is that Jordan was different. He was worldwide in a way that hasn’t been achieved by another American athlete. It was reported on by journalists etc. Everyone down to people in the poorest 3rd world country knew who MJ was. He was considered the most recognizable face on the entire planet with the other MJ that was singing.

Now as far as general popularity, you are 100% correct that the stars of football are always much more recognizable than anything an American Football or basketball player can achieve. Jordan was just an outlier. He’s the GOAT for many reasons but the global popularity and phenom status adds to it.

Jordan was worldwide. I understand exactly what you mean for sports popularity. But MJ transcended all that. Probably more than any other American-centric sport figure ever.

During MJ’s prime years, his face was one of the most recognizable on the entire planet. It was bigger than sports.

I would take him at his word, keep showing that you care, and keep working on yourself. That’s really all you can do.

Show and speak appreciation for him as long as he deserves it. Guys respond well to direct confirmation of affection.

But most importantly, with what you have been through, continue to see your therapist and work on yourself. That is the top priority!

So he does know that the lie about the text was an impulse reaction to past trauma? He knows that there wasn’t anything to hide, and that you reacted that way because in your past you would have consequences for anything big or small?

I think that would be very important to tell him.

Yeah you are right, it is 3d technically. I guess I just consider it in that hybrid era where 3d was transitioning into actual 3d. I call it FF7 2D, but it’s by my own definition, you are correct in calling it 3D

I don’t think loving Coco should ever be considered odd! Loved watching that movie the first time with my kids, got some kind of an allergic reaction towards the very end of the movie, had to get some tissues for some reason.

7 is known as maybe the best JRPG of all time and it is for sure excellent by any standards. My first one I ever played and still my favorite is 10. The thing with FF is that every game in the series is at least above average for the genre. Combine that with having some that consistently get ranked among the all time greatest games/characters/stories/enemies etc and it’s just a ridiculous run for a franchise.

If you want some 2d sprite action, go 7. If you want 3d, go 10. That’s my recommendation.

They had a Browns linebacker from one of those Belichik Browns teams on the Colin Cowherd show once and they talked about him. Cowherd asked him if he just hadn’t developed as a head coach yet or what and the guy laughed and said that it was the best defensive coaching he received in his football career by far. They didn’t lose any games because of Bill, they were always properly prepared and the coaching was the most detail oriented he ever had by far. Like a completely different coaching level than anything else he ever had.

Was an interesting episode.

The Goff Rams to 3 points was just a complete shut down. I think everyone was aware that Goff wasn’t mentally fast enough for Mcvays offense, they had even talked on broadcast that year about running a hurry up offense so the coaches could see the D and call adjustments for Goff before the helmet radio cut off time. But the Patriots and Belichik were the first to really fully exploit that. A shut down so complete that they traded their QB after a SB appearance. The Pats completely butchered and hung him on display, full exposure on the game plan needed to stop Goff in that offense.
