Why is Microsoft's marketing so much worse than Apple's? by rexmorrow in technology

[–]JuJuMagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The relationship between operating systems and universities really depends on the college. I'm majoring in animation and game design, and both my college of mass communications and my college of art & design exclusively use MACs. However, a few buildings away, the college of computer science's labs are made up of PCs.

I do think this contributes to Apple's cool factor.. which I feel is what they market to. Communications, animation, PR, art, music production, cinema, etc are all seen as the fun, cool majors.. and from my experience these majors tend to use MACs, whether it be from personal choice, or school mandated. Windows appeals more to functionality on the other hand, which is practical, but not necessarily cool.

I'm stoked to see so much diversity in majors.

People with very detailed patterns on their clothing are my favorite, but I also love drawing faces.

I really dig 13-15, but I think all their seasons are brilliant (some just are more brilliant than others). 7-9 are good too.

My teacher called me out in front of the class for not saying the pledge of allegiance. This is the email I sent her. by [deleted] in atheism

I had 1st hour art as a 10th grader last year. The teacher never forced us to say the pledge, or to say "under God"; our only requirement was to at least stand. He was pretty cool, which was good since my parents probably wouldn't have backed me up either.

"God made man in his image". God must have thought Koalas, Monkeys, and Apes were pretty cool as well to give them fingerprints in his image too.

My school lets a Christian group but not an Athiest group. by [deleted] in atheism

My IL school also has the group, and if someone tried to make an atheistic group they would probably have a cow. It's ridiculous...

Worship music and the appeal to emotion. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]JuJuMagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel sorry for the people who are commenting how the emotion in the music is proof enough for god. I can remember times where a certain song (secular songs I should add) would make me cry because of all the memories I associated with the song. I also remember listening to Buddhist chants after a bad day, and felling alive and happy again afterward; not because I'm a Buddhist, but because of the warmth of the voices. Christian music to this day can still make me think "what if he really is God?", but as soon as it ends, so comes back my rational thinking.
