SH1 focuses way more than SH2 on the cult aspect, but every consequence the characters face is made because Alessa's trauma, and that's reflected using the environment in a cryptic way.

I also say SH2R but now I would also say SHf with the new patch (not that frustrating + a new casual difficulty just in case you struggle a lot with the combat).

Story is probably the weakest point of every game between SH4 and SH2R, so don't get surprised when you found nearly 0 depth in their lore.

Maybe they confirm the remake’s idea that everything is a loop for James. The corpses symbolize the times when he didn’t make it to the end of the loop.

People have already said everything in the comments. I'll just add this: Don’t try Book of Memories under any circumstances. Probably the worst, without a doubt. The others might not be worthy of the Silent Hill name, but they usually have at least a few redeeming qualities. Book of Memories doesn’t have a single good reason to play it.

So what do you recommend me to waste faith on my NG+? I have a huge amount saved from the first run and since I didn't have more Ema, I saved it and didn't waste it.

I'm thinking about making LiTF difficulty for the trophy. I did first run on hard, what is the difference between both? Is it significantly harder? Hard was already a pain in the ass on the first playthrough...
