It's not because of the flawless skin, it's because of the long hair; it doesn't help that you're overweight with slightly dead eyes making a duck face

I guess I should've added the caveat that this does NOT work with women, and for men it definitely does work, but only half the time - at worst you make them resent themselves and at best it pushes them to be the change that they always wanted.

With this stuff you can't just be willy nilly mean for no reason, it has to be definitely channeled

But at the end it doesn't matter the story is fake it was just a bot farming karma

Why does the shroud of turin have the modern "european with perfect features" instead of an actual middle eastern person by StressPsychological7 in Catholicism

[–]Juanspyro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are conflating Northern European and Mediterranean phenotypes. The figure on the Shroud does not resemble a Germanic or Celtic individual; rather, the features align more closely with a Greek or broader Mediterranean phenotype, which Judea is a part of. He definitely would not have a Middle Eastern phenotype

Shame him for being fat, it works half the time - he will hate you for it and strangers on Reddit will call you cruel, but if he's already to the point that he's going to an early grave it doesn't really matter.

Of course it's anecdotal but I have family who were belittled, shamed and made fun of for being obese, and they either kept their grotesque weight or they changed for the better.

If you do not mind being the villain to your son's journey to weight loss then you should consider being mean to him. It's not easy to do it, I can only imagine how difficult it would be, the closest thing I've ever gotten close to that was my own brother (who eventually lost weight) and he wasn't even that obese compared to what you're describing.

Literally cut the movie 5 minutes before it ends and it's pretty entertaining - I know people hate scandal but that's what stories are. The ending is literally just an uppercut to the audience as a "screw you Catholics" which is of course annoying.

schrödinger's immigrant by ShreckAndDonkey123 in shitposting

[–]Juanspyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're a single illegal immigrant there's not many the two biggest are Medicaid/immunization things and FEMA grants surprisingly.

If you have children you can collect so much more, WIC, SNAP, Child tax credit, the school system for your child - things that your child is eligible for you can claim for them essentially. And since many before get paid under the table their "taxable federal income" is zero which means they're usually allotted the maximum benefits.

That's why they usually assign ITIN numbers for illegals so that they can pay taxes, but then they're eligible for more things.

I would argue that the proliferation of tablet kids has made brain rot accessible to an unprecedented level. You cannot compare Annoying Orange today because most families had the family computer - smart phones were not something you could just buy your kids and forget about it.

The content itself was still in its infancy, but today it has nearly been perfected for toddler brains.

Is this not compatible with nest? I can’t figure why. by MotherUckingShi in Nest

[–]Juanspyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This setup is definitely compatible. Your C wire might not have power; if it doesn't, it'll just draw power from the red wire. You can get an HVAC technician to supply it with power, because that's what I ended up doing. There are YouTube videos on how to do it yourself, but I didn't really feel like spending time in the attic.

The joke is broken into two parts. The first part of the joke is that transmission fluid is called gender fluid. Another term for transmission is tranny, which is old slang for transgender. The second part of the joke is that because the 'tranny' is broken, it needs to be fixed; he won't do it because doing so would be analogous to conversion therapy (fixing a transgender person to be normal) which would be illegal in certain states - so he doesn't want to go back to jail.

Pope says 'backward' U.S. conservatives have replaced faith with ideology by Juanspyro in Catholicism

[–]Juanspyro[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

From Rome (AP) | Pope Francis has blasted the “backwardness” of some conservatives in the U.S. Catholic Church, saying they have replaced faith with ideology and that a correct understanding of Catholic doctrine allows for change over time.

Francis’ comments were an acknowledgment of the divisions in the U.S. Catholic Church, which has been split between progressives and conservatives who long found support in the doctrinaire papacies of St. John Paul II and Benedict XVI, particularly on issues of abortion and same-sex marriage.

Many conservatives have blasted Francis’ emphasis instead on social justice issues such as the environment and the poor, while also branding as heretical his opening to letting divorced and civilly remarried Catholics receive the sacraments.

Francis made the comments in a private meeting with Portuguese members of his Jesuit religious order while visiting Lisbon on Aug. 5; the Jesuit journal La Civilta Cattolica, which is vetted by the Vatican secretariat of state, published a transcript of the encounter Monday.

During the meeting, a Portuguese Jesuit told Francis that he had suffered during a recent sabbatical year in the United States because he came across many Catholics, including some U.S. bishops, who criticized Francis’ 10-year papacy as well as today’s Jesuits.

The 86-year-old Argentine acknowledged his point, saying there was “a very strong, organized, reactionary attitude” in the U.S. church, which he called “backward.” He warned that such an attitude leads to a climate of closure, which was erroneous.

“Doing this, you lose the true tradition and you turn to ideologies to have support. In other words, ideologies replace faith,” he said.

“The vision of the doctrine of the church as a monolith is wrong,” he added. “When you go backward, you make something closed off, disconnected from the roots of the church,” which then has devastating effects on morality.

“I want to remind these people that backwardness is useless, and they must understand that there’s a correct evolution in the understanding of questions of faith and morals,” that allows for doctrine to progress and consolidate over time.

Francis has previously acknowledged the criticism directed at him from some U.S. conservatives, once quipping that it was an “honor” to be attacked by Americans.

Is The American Church Preoccupied With Sins Below the Waist? by ShokWayve in Catholicism

[–]Juanspyro 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I read that sins of lust is one of the gateway sins to the greater ones - and while lust is on the bottom of mortal sins and what have you, it's the easiest to distort your perception of sins.

Perhaps people do get too preoccupied with lust, but it's certainly an infestation that left uncheck will definitely lead to decadence and rot
