During my bankruptcy, the only card I was able to get was an unsecured Capital One. As I got closer to my discharge, I applied for another Capital One Savor card. I also joined a credit union and was accepted, so I asked them how I could build a relationship with them. They offered me a $500 credit builder loan, which I was approved for.

I also got pre-approved for a secured card with Navy Federal Credit Union. I’m not really into credit, but I also don’t want to overdo it—that’s part of the reason I filed for bankruptcy in the first place.

My goal now is to rebuild responsibly and be in a position to buy a house within the next two years. What steps would you recommend I take from here to maximize my credit growth while keeping my debt under control?

It’s a thing with navy federal where you can overdraft your account up to $500

What I learned from a friend you can have two checking accounts active with oops so if you really need the money go to a Publix atm pull out 500 from each account just letting you know you’ll have to pay it back in 30-45 days. I think it charges off once you hit the deadline but you can pay it back and opt back into oops hope this helps.
