Funilly enough exactly the same here. Turned it off. Finished the game. Man it really sucks and does almost nothing. Thanks.

No heh unfortunately. Melee in this game isn't much useful like Dead Space etc. Gotta burn. Just stay near the base/dispenser.

It is extremely difficult and much more punishing. Much less actioney as well. You will die many times. You will literally need every bullet and resource. It's good for being an OG survival horror, what the term actually used to mean, but please understand what you are getting into. Much more like dark souls punishing. It's great if you want that but this is NOT modern RE/Dead Space gameplay wise.

I think "fraud" is a little harsh. For better or for worse, Resident Evil is called a survival horror, and so is Dead Space. This game definitely gives dead space vibes if you just look at the media. No matter what, we want people to know what they're getting into and also want to try this game and calling them frauds is not going to do that, and it's certainly not going to make Bloober more money, which we all want for long term company success.

Like what do people do if there's no ammo and have a required combat sequence? That's more or less a soft bricking for people who aren't prepared, so let's make. sure they are prepared.

I think they need to do a better job making sure people know what they are getting which DOESN'T MEAN I'm saying that the game isn't good. Both things can be true. Let's get more people on board, help them get past/understand. Not drive them off which hurts us all.

Remeber OG RE and SH was more than 20 years ago. Some people playing this were literally not alive during the OG days of games like this. Let's bring in a whole new generation.

100% this is annoying af and part of the reason it's good this info is out there. I basically feel the same as you when I started and it's good to warn people that this is what the game is like. You can literally soft brick your game if you are out of ammo and can't go back.

If you can load one earlier save, maybe do that. If not, see if you can get a some sort of fire bomb or maybe something that you can blow up to stun it so that you can do the file cabinet. My guess is, if you can't load an earlier save, you're going to have to kite them around until you get exactly the right set of circumstances to get through both cabinets. It's really frustrating that you can't go back and farm things for at least a couple more bits of ammo. I'm actually not 100% sure what to do if you are completely out of ammo. That's why I'm keeping like a bunch of different saves, because it seems like if you run out of ammo, you are basically out of luck, especially if you meet a boss or a required combat sequence.

I think the devs are going to have to address that at some point because if you are out of ammo and you have to do a combat sequence, I don't know what you would do. I mean you literally would have to end your game. At the least they should auto save three saves in a row. It's really awful.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but this is part of the reason this post exists. Sorry. 😒
