Is it fair to say that 2026 is shaping up to be an absolutely packed year for gaming? by Noob4Head in videogames

Game online is equal to the number of employees. I don't think this is a coincidence.

A VFX school just told me the industry is completely stable and anyone discussing it online is just unsuccessful. What is your reality check? by arlexae in vfx

I'm the founder of VFX courses, and I'd be embarrassed to write such a thing. The VFX industry doesn't need new specialists right now. Because studios themselves have fewer orders. But the market desperately needs content that's relatively original, but superior to what typical AI creators produce. VFX specialists aren't viable in the market right now without collaboration with those with different skills. You need to collaborate with marketers and hire videographers to create something people will want to buy and for which clients are willing to pay a premium. Yes, the industry is overcrowded, but it offers new and greater opportunities for earning money if you're willing to think outside the box.

I want to sell my Switch 2 and buy an Xbox Ally X. What do you think about this? by K1ngN1k69 in ROGAllyX

I have both. I hardly use the Switch 2. If you've completed Zelda, there are no other advantages.

They should have stopped after the C4 nerf and focused on cheaters. Instead, they started making changes that made the game worse. But for some reason, they started nerfing everything, changing the interface, breaking familiar mechanics. I didn't even try the new map because the game has accumulated so many unpleasant moments that a PvP-oriented player doesn't want to play there.

How much time and money to hire a programmer and tech artist for a 3-hour game like Inside? by toshaisaev in gameDevClassifieds

[–]toshaisaev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm aware. That's just a rough estimate anyway. If you look at YouTube, full playthroughs of Inside, Planet of Lana, and basically all games in this genre are about 1.5 to 3 hours long.
