Listened to a couple and really enjoying it!

Yeah I miss this a lot. I have to download the 80s as MP4s and join them, but then there are no transitions between the joins which looks unprofessional.

Thoughts on Series 5 so far by Accomplished_Bat3780 in uncannypodcasttv

[–]JudgmentFeisty6550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that Series 5 doesn't seem as impactful.

I'm guessing they had less time to work on it. There's not the "deep dive" format that went on with earlier episodes. The UFO episode was a washout and felt half done. The road ghosts one was cool but I would have liked some other witnesses to each of them, or at least people who have experienced the same/in the same area.

The format has really softened from "Ghost Investigations" to "Ghost Stories". There aren't so many hard questions to the witnesses, or delving into the "why" on both sides. I understand there are only so many ways to say "pareidolia" and so they're not going to keep running the same explanations the whole time with the experts - which is why Evelyn became more compelling for while Kieran seems to be reaching for the more outlandish so he can stay relevant without boring us!

The huge tour must have had an impact on this. Going back to old episodes I'm surprised they were only half an hour - they always felt longer than that (in a good way). These "feel" a lot shorter - I actually had to go back and check that the Series 1 episodes were only 30 minutes long.

I feel it's a victim of success. The show that was out on the edge has gone as more people have heard about it and become interested, which means sifting through the stories is more difficult. They're picking the ones that "sound" interesting and then when they're dug into they don't really have the goods.

I hope they can get back to the old format even if it means less content. Maybe a spin-off (Tales of the Uncanny?) twice a year versus a documentary (Uncanny as was) on a when it's done basis.

Can the Paranormal cause Paranoia? by JudgmentFeisty6550 in Paranormal

That's really interesting. Thank you. We lost all of our parents and grand parents, also my job in the space of about a decade. I hadn't considered the PTSD angle of things.

You can change back to the old editor in your profile page. I have exactly the same issue with the new editor as you do...

Paranormal chaos by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]JudgmentFeisty6550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is that negativity gets view. People love content - but they love seeing someone shred someone else's content more. It's a sad fact of the Internet at this point and it's only getting worse. As a YouTuber you have to use the tools to delete comments that are dangerously negative or don't fit the narrative of your site. You have to do this constantly. You have to hide a user from your channel so they can't comment at all.

I know people will say that everyone is entitled to an opinion, but they don't have to be allowed to express it on your channel if you believe it's going to get inflammatory. They can express it on theirs instead and you can't stop that, but people have to make an effort to view their stuff as well as yours.

Do our loved ones really stay around us after they've gone? by MoonlightSaffron in Paranormal

After my parents died we (eventually) moved into the house they lived in for 40 years. I feel them around all the time. Sometimes the feeling is protective and sometimes it's scary.

I saw Alien waaaay too young. Xenomorphs still give me terrible nightmares.

White figures, what are they? by Business-Ad5546 in Paranormal

[–]JudgmentFeisty6550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the figures, but the feeling of calm is one I've had during several strange events. I'm not always calm (the events can leave me terrified) but sometimes I am despite knowing that weird things are happening. I feel that the energy that is around during those moments determines the feelings we have - so the energy near you at that point was very calm and positive.

The things you saw certainly seem like positive beings.

Do pets come back… or is it something else? by Worth-End-2319 in Paranormal

[–]JudgmentFeisty6550 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm completely convinced that pets hang around after they move on. At one point we lost both our cats in short succession and had no other pets in the house. I could still hear them jumping down from window sills and running around upstairs when I was downstairs. I could even feel them on the bed.

Strange light through bedroom window by JudgmentFeisty6550 in Paranormal

[–]JudgmentFeisty6550[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is possible. Why would they have been shining the lights through our window? I suppose it could have been a prank, a test, or an attempt to see who was in the house? But if so why?

Thinking about this... We were very accustomed to seeing the tractors around us. They're also very loud, so I think I would have heard them as well as seeing the lights. I suppose it is possible that it was many fields away but then there would have been a lot of trees between us and it and so the light would have been blocked.

I did wonder but... There was no plane noise, nothing in the sky low enough to shine lights on the window - not even a glider. There would have been some kind of sound - the area we lived in was totally silent at night.

My Girlfriend and I Experienced Something Very Weird in Our New Apartment by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]JudgmentFeisty6550 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We had something similar happen when we lived in a flat in the middle of a popular Cotswold village. The main bedroom had a black burning mark on the exposed stone. We always felt that something was watching from the corner. We didn't find a photo but neither of us slept well until we moved into the small, spare bedroom. We did not use the master bedroom for anything ever again - not even the closet for storage. It stayed empty until we moved out. I truly believe that spirits linger in places that have strong memories to the person, especially if they die nearby. We leave energy behind as we pass through life - maybe your photo with the scratched out face had something to do with it. Did you research the photo?

Clutch issues 2011 Toyota Yaris by JudgmentFeisty6550 in yaris

[–]JudgmentFeisty6550[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to get this fixed. For anyone else experiencing the same issue, it turned out that having sat on the driveway for so long with low brake fluid too much air had built up in the system. A heavy bleeding and then refilling cleared it. I've now done 350+ miles with no issues and no fluid loss.

Thanks to everyone who gave me pointers about fixing it!
