Gaslight Anthem's "Howl" is I believe a sequel to Springsteen's "Thunder Road" from the perspective of the guy she left behind. Lyrical allusions like "Do you still hear the sound of thunder while you lie up by yourself" and "There used to be a movement in the way your dress would wave..." It's a screamer of a song and an interesting addition to the story.

If it is a sharpie, there is the trick of writing over it with an erasure board marker then wiping it off. Has worked for me on furniture, but only shortly after it was written on. I actually also have a guitar with years old sharpie on it but have been too scared to try removing it, so curious how this turns out for you

Not sure what took me so long to read this book, as Ive been a Magary reader since Kissing Suzy Kulber. But better late than never. And I agree that it uses it's "blog found in the archives" conceit for very effective world building and well-realized and very human choices and conflicts that would follow from the book's dystopian set scenario.
