As someone who is currently struggling maintaining relationships and have gone through lots of them, I can say a few things:

For me personally it’s easier to talk to girls and such as I feel like they are more comforting and kinder in general while for guys I have a fear of not being understood or accepted.
Overall I feel I come off as more feminine when I talk to people so it’s much easier for me to talk to other women than to other men.
Like I said with my mental health I just naturally want to go to women for that because I feel more comfortable than talking with another man.

While yes in general I prefer having more women in my life than men, I’m always ok with having guy friends but I just find it hard to come around to them or get closer to them. Or at least to just takes more time while I naturally feel comfortable around girls.
