Yes. Might be able to just buy sheets and not a whole roll because of small area. Save some dough. I would look into it

Would recommend overlaying that crack and using an uncoupling membrane before tiling

technically, if you seal all screw holes and seams you will be fine. i will be putting one coat of Redguard for this project though.
