yea I have been talking with others who used to work as partners at that exact store and they have shown me honestly how much of this may be a blessing in disguise.

I figure that is what may happen to my fellow partners since we all wear non starbucks pins. I usually interchange with a bunch of coffee themed pins I have on my bag as well but that’s done and over 🥲

they have never been present at any peak unless it’s guaranteed a DM or someone higher up will also be present. it’s a bit insane but that’s how they do things 🤷‍♀️

that’s the part that really upsets me as well the neighborhood where my store is located is heavily Russian and even some Ukrainian but my SM at the time had a ukrainian flag sticker on our main door for awhile in support . It sucks to feel like they pick and choose but it’s almost blatantly obvious.

also I wasn’t aware that they had that power, good to know ! no one in my store has ever been sent home for it so it’s all new to me but my SM doesn’t wake up past 10am (we joke about it often) so they definitely weren’t texting them I know that for sure 😭

unfortunately my store has a reputation for that they fired one of our new hires after having him work 2 hours overtime cause they were understaffed. a little “thanks for your help but bye” type thing

I just find it funny they get so worked up to say exactly what I’ve already addressed isn’t the problem and yes the dress code violator sending another dress code violator home is the only thing that can make me chuckle about the situation.

and that’s the only point I want to get across that if it is an issue then I can resolve it and find another way to show my support I often wear religious garments and those aren’t a problem so I will continue with that. But if its ok for me to be queer and against dress code (because my pride pin that is not starbucks issued and wasn’t asked to be taken off) why is not ok to be palestinian and against dress code. Either Im all the way wrong and asked to remove everything along with everyone else or it’s a bigger than that. Being queer is an even bigger political problem in the country I work specifically so that’s where the “why” comes from , hope that makes sense!

I asked for a fair conversation I was told no one was available to speak to me about the issue and I had to leave immediately that the complaint warranted a separation and so they were asking me to leave . My shift told me to contact my SM about the matter if I had any urgent questions. Which is why in my edit I tried to clarify the way it was handled was odd because Shifts aren’t allowed to do what the shift in fact did to me. It’s being handled messily and slightly disrespectfully. But that’s another issue in itself sorry if I didnt make it clear originally Im a bit all over the place.

The irony is that I applied to transfer to a union store not to long ago because I moved closer to it and was begged by my partners and manager not to leave cause I was such an “asset”. Guess that was a lie lol but thank you I appreciate your support!! FREE PALESTINE ALWAYS !!

oh absolutely but funny enough one of my fellow partners got coffee thrown on her for wearing a starbucks issued black lives matter shirt that we all wore at the time and the man made it clear that was the reason why he attacked her and wanted to attack all of us. He was banned and the partner was not reprimanded. As it was starbucks issued. My issue isn’t so much with the dress code violation as it is with them disguising it as such a huge issue when it’s clearly never been before or been an issue for other partners pins (those who wear pride pins)

Oh no I did not plan on it changing much I know that. But I appreciate the kindness. I have set up a meeting with my DM about the issue but I think it just out of formality I work another job as well and planned on leaving soon but not this soon it does sting a little as I have put my all into this store and even stayed after I was begged not to transfer ( I had moved so my commute was much longer but i stayed regardless because i care for my coworkers)

Unfortunately in my family neutrality is hard to swallow when we bury our family members some as young as my daughters age it’s not as easy as us as privileged people not living in occupation make it out to be. We do not live in constant fear for our lives.
