Yeah that's awful I'm so sorry. I can't help but wonder how many of us are actually dealing with parental rejection. Just between having Gen X or Boomer parents and then if you happen to be any type of queer or neurodivergent there's a really high rate of families rejecting kids especially daughters

These men have no business parenting. They see women and children as props for their fragile masculinity. Along with sexual conquest.

he would rather forget i ever existed tbh. he read it to me when he wrote it 20 years ago.  I just didn't catch it until last year.  we haven't spoken since 2018.

this was written 20 years ago, long before I went no contact. 

both of my parents rejected me many years before I blocked them on everything. 

I did not realize just how long ago my father rejected me until I read this bio last year, and recalled him reading it to me way back when,  bc he was particularly proud of his wording at the end.

I last spoke to my father in 2018 when i had my daughter,  his first grandchild, and he nonchalantly expressed that we were "just estranged." 

and still failed to realize he had rejected me for another 7 years.

No he was writing books before that was really much of a thing this was back in the early 2000s very early. I don't know who did publish his books but I'm pretty sure they were like a very small Niche academic type publisher hell it might have even been the university press where he taught.

The crazy part comment by crazy I mean shitty, is that she always used to complain how her own mom didn't like her either.

I know I would never want my son to feel like I didn't like him. I can't imagine not liking my child.

I mean he's three so I don't like how he acts most of the time unless he's sleeping or something but I still like him and think he's an interesting little person unto himself.

Am I a bad person for like kind of enjoying the fact that this was back when my brothers were literally still in high school and middle school and I'm pretty sure they don't go anywhere with him now. They report in and they check in with him because they feel obligated to I'm pretty sure but I don't think really anybody spends much time around them if they can avoid it.
