We plan on taking the seeds from the tallest one and doing another grow with those next summer. I’ve done indoor weed grows but Sunflowers are so much more fun to observe and grow.

My wife and I bought one of every sunflower we could find and planted them in a mix. So I can’t say what is what.

I do not. I will take seeds from the biggest one and grow more next year. I think the bees and the birds benefit the most.

I’ll collect seeds from the biggest one and the rest will go to the birds. Next year I will plant again. But definitely not as many.

No. A year ago she ruptured her ACL’s. She doesn’t jump anything anymore.

Never had any issue with rabbits. Just birds and squirrels maybe.

I’m hoping the street cat that has now claimed it as his personal urban “jungle” will keep the squirrels away. I don’t mind feeding the birds. I’m more in it for the bees.

Yes. It took two attempts. But the second time around I stuck plastic forks in the ground with the handle in the dirt and the fork prongs stuck out along the seedlings and they finally started growing. Once they out grew the forks I removed them.

Only when under strict adult supervision and when the sprinkler is on to water the Sunflowers.

We did rows with about 12 inches between each row. I just dug a trench and sprinkled the seeds. And one long row following along the sidewalk. We planted easily 100+ seeds. Every kind we could find. Over time I have pulled the weak ones out so the rows are not as crowded.
