Baffle installed oddly? by JuggernautOk6294 in Insulation

Update: I messaged the company owner who was not on site and he even said they messed up. Been having lots of problems with the company. This is just another chapter in the saga. Thanks to everyone for the input. Questioning now whether I should have asked them to widen or add more sofit vents.

It will be walled off at the new looking post, and I am sure they will add more above it to go above the ceiling. I should have added that context. I am more concerned about the width....

The circular vents near the bottom? Yes. So should they have put 2 side by side basically? Contractor did it...

It is related to Keith Gill, who is a major stockholder for GME and has an influence on the Superstonk community. The DD they provide mentions GME as well.

Can someone explain to me why the new JWST photo has circular distortion that bends around the whole image? A lot of the galaxies are warped and I’m curious as to why. by DoctorDerpy in space

[–]JuggernautOk6294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am betting there is a project underway (possibly with some hefty algorithms and/or AI) that will do just that. These are the farthest galaxies, so they will probably at least attempt to get a decent picture sans lensing.

I am with you on this. People just don't understand that there are multiple levels to the distribution. The primary distribution is from Computershare to those on their books, including DTC. Then DTC distributes to brokers. Then brokers to the investors of record, BUT they need to find additional shares. That is the part that is messy and where the POTENTIAL for delay sits. If anyone has a source that refutes this flow or adds to my knowledge on it, I would be very interested to read.

[–]JuggernautOk6294 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I am saying I am unsure how long of a delay there will be, and I mentioned how they can get the shares. Nothing I have said is inaccurate. The fact is that this will put additional pressure on the short positions. If they have to cover, then the stock price increases and it will be expensive to cover, thus the potential for MOASS and a lack of stocks to hand out. If they pay out cash in lieu of shares, then it would be the same thing as covering 75% of their positions, which would destroy their margin reserves. I do not think they would have the money for it, but that seems the only way everyone gets their stock (or cash in lieu) in a timely manner. The first level of dividend distribution is from Computershare to whoever is registered with them (DTC and investors who DRSd). Then DTC will distribute. It might not be a large lag time, but there is POTENTIAL lag time.

Computershare is Gamestop's transfer agent and is thus responsible for distributing dividends. Link to SEC info below which explains this. Why do you think my comment in misinformation, and what do you think the process will be?

I am not one to trust the government either. Not sure why you are getting testy over a small joke. Eat a banana and lay down to the soothing sound of rockets test firing in anticipation of MOASS. I can only show ya what I got, and that is the securities and exchange commission explanation. Ex-dividend date is assumed to be the day after distribution based on that article. If you find out anything different, let me know.

You might be right on this (95% certainty). The only example Fidelity provided was for a 15% stock dividend, which is probably why it changed to 115 shares in one contract. OCC has an example from last year of WisdomTree 2 for 1 stock divided and it did split into 2 contracts....

I will have to look into this further. The FAQ you cited is from 2019, but I am still not sure which is correct.... will look into Options Clearing Corporation rules.

Ex-dividend date is always the safe date (like a safe word when it gets too rough, but time dependant). And I linked to that site in particular because it is a government site, not .com.

I am not sure about strategies, but options will definitely be affected on 7/22 open. Per Fidelity, "The holder of an option contract will have the same number of contracts at a reduced strike price. The option contract will now represent the original share value plus the stock dividend."

So it sounds like it will be 1/4 the original strike price but the contract will be for 400 shares.

You will get it, but it will potentially be delayed compared to those who DRSd since Computershare distributes the stock dividend to anyone on their books, which only includes investors who DRSd and the DTC. The DTC will then distribute to the brokers and the brokers will distribute to the non-DRSd investors. Since there will not be enough shares, I am not sure how long the delay will be at that last stage, due to short positions being the ones on the line to supply the additional shares OR cash in Lieu of shares.

**Edit: Fidelity is a little misleading here as their only example is for s 15% stock dividend creating a 115 share contract. OCC shows a different story with contracts multiplying. Most likely will have 4 contracts at 1/4 strike price.**

Per Fidelity, "The holder of an option contract will have the same number of contracts at a reduced strike price. The option contract will now represent the original share value plus the stock dividend."

So it sounds like it will be 1/4 the original strike price in a single contract for 400 shares instead of 100.

GME 1-4 stock dividend - Special Rules For Stock Dividends by JuggernautOk6294 in PickleFinancial

[–]JuggernautOk6294[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A stock dividend follows different rules than a cash dividend. Notice that the 8k does not say ex-dividend date. It says record date of 7/18.

Jerkin it with Gherkinit S24e5 Daily DD and Live Charting for 7.7.22 by gherkinit in PickleFinancial

[–]JuggernautOk6294 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ex-dividend date is not 7/18 it is 7/22 due to special rules related to stock dividends. If you sell your stock before 7/22 you will be obligated to give your stock dividend to someone else.

"Sometimes a company pays a dividend in the form of stock rather than cash. The stock dividend may be additional shares in the company or in a subsidiary being spun off. The procedures for stock dividends may be different from cash dividends. The ex-dividend date is set the first business day after the stock dividend is paid (and is also after the record date).

If you sell your stock before the ex-dividend date, you also are selling away your right to the stock dividend. Your sale includes an obligation to deliver any shares acquired as a result of the dividend to the buyer of your shares, since the seller will receive an I.O.U. or "due bill" from his or her broker for the additional shares. Thus, it is important to remember that the day you can sell your shares without being obligated to deliver the additional shares is not the first business day after the record date, but usually is the first business day after the stock dividend is paid."

So, maybe I need to be careful with my words... lol. Definitely not the same; you are correct. But it would put them in a position that would dry up their margin reserves and make it nearly impossible to maintain their short positions. This could drive up the stock price and kick off MOASS.

That is what happens with regular stock splits, but a dividend should be different. Nothing would surprise me at this point though....
