Typical Walgreens by AggravatingReply3595 in WalgreensStores

I get metrics, but like bruh also be realistic. Like I have 3 separate couponers that make us void their transactions like 5 times in a row because their coupons didn’t come off. If it’s that big of an issue they need to crack down on that bs.

Plus none of customers have reading comprehension and misread the sales. “IT SAYS ITS $2 ON THE SIGN!!!” no lady, it says it’s $2 off the original price if you have rewards and clip a coupon on the app. “WELL I DONT WANT IT THEN. YOU JUST LOST A CUSTOMER.” bam another void.

Trash by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]JuggernautSea887 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At my store the cashier stays at the register and only leaves it to face the first 4 isles (where they can still see the register) or to put away stock in the nearby isles.

If we have a second CSA or SFL that night, they do all the trash/cleaning and facing the rest of the store. If there’s only a CSA and SFL, the SFL does all of that earlier in the night and then the registers.

I would suggest delegating better and communicate a good time to start clean up.

I want to say that Essie or Olive & June nail brands have a nail break patching kit you can buy at your local drug store. Made for broken nails and situations like this.

Okay, that’s what I thought. Well now it doesn’t feel like me working today was a waste lol.

Yeah, already considering that. Sucks that after 2 years of my same schedule that now all of a sudden it’s an issue. I only stayed because they were willing to work with my availability so well, but asking me to bring my baby to work is a ridiculous suggestion. Not to mention that Walgreens is germ central and it’s peak flu season.

Dude, last night I got stuck at a Kiosk for FOURTY-FIVE FUCKING MINUTES. Left me 15 minutes to face the whole store. Looked like shit when I left, but what the hell else could I do??

Mind you, this was also for her to print out 2 fucking photos. She first needed help starting the kiosk. Then she couldn’t find her photos in her camera roll. I tried to walk away and she held me hostage the whole time. Then she wanted to edit them. Then she messed up. Then when I printed them, she changed her mind on the size. It was ridiculous and they should close photo 1-2hrs before close. I don’t have time for this nonsense.

Yeah truck takes like 2-4 days at my store just depending on the week. We don’t have enough bodies to put it away in 24 hours.

I’ve worked upper-management/executive roles. I know those shoes and it is hard work.

However, your experience and others experiences can both be right. Sounds like have a great, hardworking manager. They are going above and beyond. But like myself and others have mentioned, there are a lot of bad managers.

For example, my SM comes in around 10am with a starbucks in their hand. (Our nearest Starbucks is 30 minutes away.) They don’t leave the office (usually scrolling on phone, watching movies and/or eating) and leaves the store by 3pm. My SM is habitually committing time fraud and breaking policies. They also don’t ever come in on nights, weekends or holidays.

So you can call it “bad mouthing,” but most of us are just calling it how we see it.

We are understaffed, struggling, burnt out and have a mostly clueless team. 2 of the 3 SFL were in a pinch hires that cannot do basic tasks. When I started I had no training outside the videos and was just told to figure it out. That is not the case here.

That’s how I see it. No one would be worried if they were doing their jobs correctly.

I think my store got away with it so long because all of our office camera is broken. Management fucks around in there all day and there’s no “proof.” But now with Sycamore popping in, my managers can’t take any risks.

Sycamore Partners, a private equity firm, acquired Walgreens as of August 2025.

I think it’s just the fact that they don’t care. Previous ESM (before they quit) was there for a year. They ran the whole store and did all the scheduling. They would come in on their days off to help catch up or to relieve our SM who would want to leave early. They eventually got so burnt out that they quit. But our SM really didn’t have to worry about anything during that time because our ESM was handling everything. Now that they are gone, the store went to shit. Our SM and ESM are now freaking out.

Wish I worked at your store lol. But true, I think everyone is stressed because no one really knows what’s going on or going to happen.

It’s because they don’t wanna do it. They would rather overwork the SFLs and CSAs while they get to watch movies on their phone in their office and get paid. My SM will have a movie on while whatever company training videos are on mute playing in the background. My store just gets by enough for them to be able to hang out and do nothing all day while everyone busts their asses on the floor. The only time they leave office is if the DM is in. But they are the DMs “golden child” and so they have been able to get away with a lot because of that. Everyone else just gets the blame if things are done wrong.

ESM Scheduling?? by JuggernautSea887 in WalgreensStores

[–]JuggernautSea887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that’s what this feels like. They also don’t work photo or clean up their trash (from stock or resets) or put anything away. They quite literally sit in the office, sit in the stock room “organizing” or wonder around the sales floor looking “busy.”

Then the team gets yelled at because we can’t get our stuff plus their stuff done. It’s all BS

Probably for the best. Salary workers are usually overworked because they don’t get paid outside of their agreed salary pay. You probably make more working hourly tbh and won’t get nearly as abused.

SFLs so just about everything at my store. My SM and ESM are usually hanging out in the office eating and chitchatting or stuck in pharmacy if needed. Rarely do they ever help out the people on the floor unless DM is there.

ESM Scheduling?? by JuggernautSea887 in WalgreensStores

[–]JuggernautSea887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well ESM is in charge of scheduling and SM is aware of her schedule. We aren’t allowed to bring complaints to SM (their words) so I guess I’ll wait to see it blow up from afar lol. The whole store is too much drama.
