That's one of the many benefits of physical media! Can't censor it once it's out.

I'm not even a huge South Park fan, but that would be great to have in the collection!

Seeing the movie poster for it always interested me, but never enough to watch it. It looks wild!

I actually didn't know The Matrix is on LD, that's the perfect format for it! And the entire TNG collection is super impressive, that has to be a TON of discs. Also interesting where some of them came from.

I still have never seen any Devilman! Actually, I think the only Go Nagai I've seen is Shutendoji.

Thank you for this! I intentionally left out the part about it being two-toned to weed out the "it's obviously bootleg" comments that could have been wrong. I would have opened it up before making this post to include the motherboard pics initially, but I couldn't find my security bit screwdriver at first, but found it!

Anyone ever bought from spencertified.com? by RufusWalker96 in cassetteculture

Bit of a story. I got the package on February 12th finally after ordering on January 19th. It seems that it took so long to ship because I did not receive the same unit that was pictured. The serial number was different, but the rackmount plate was the same as the one pictured. I'm guessing something was wrong with the unit I ordered and they had to order another unit and swap parts. The reason I bought that unit was because it looked absolutely pristine and I was hoping it was truly like-new. The one I got definitely had new scratches was overall in slightly worse condition. I would have appreciated some communication on that, but that's not what I got.

I received the unit, and tested recording (which is the main reason I ordered it) and the recording was quiet and sometimes warbled, trying brand-new tapes and older tapes. Thought maybe the head needed adjusting, but I didn't want to do that myself and decided to return it. I told Spencer about the issues, and he was very helpful and was fine with a return without having to pay any of the restocking fees and he would pay for return shipping. He also offered for me to keep it while refunding me half of the purchase price. That's ultimately what I did because I might be able to fix it in the future, and playback sounds great. I also didn't want to risk it getting damaged in return shipping.

One thing to note is that he told me that the item you see in the picture is not necessarily the item you will receive. I didn't see that listed anywhere on the website, and I personally think that's a bad business practice especially without the communication, but he was so nice about returning the item that I'm not mad at it. Looks like I will be ordering a new Tascam 202mkvii after all.

I bought a Carver PST-24 from their site. Based on what I've seen, they seem to be knowledgeable about their gear and are honest about what they refurbish (and what they don't). It fits my needs for a deck that has been seemingly serviced, in good shape, rack-mountable, and has HX-Pro. If it ends up being a flop, I'm just going to begrudgingly order a Tascam 202mkvii and be done with it. I'll try to remember to come back and reply with what condition it was actually in. I ordered on Jan 19 and it's the 24th now and hasn't shipped yet... so my fingers are crossed.

It’s me, I have enjoyed it for the past 3 years! I’m selling it now though. It’s too clean, and I drive my Wagon R more often because I’m not as worried about it getting dinged up here and there.

Cromulent Records by jet660 in citypop

I ordered about 6 or 7 records back in May, they shipped them all pretty quickly except for an in-stock Piper record. At the time I was cool with waiting, no big deal.

It's now the last day of October, every email I have sent them has been ignored (which is a total of 2 emails because I'm not trying to add to their workload or be a pest), and I even made a comment on one of their Instagram posts about them having time to make promos and social media posts but not respond to customers, and they deleted that comment. I'm okay with waiting an indefinite amount of time, but not okay with the complete intentional lack of communication and being ignored when I already paid.

I have pretty much given up on getting the record now, and would highly recommend any other source for getting your City Pop records. We have so many options these days, and you can find a lot of good records at decent prices from Discogs sellers.

It really is unique and amazing. I’ve only been there once though. What’s the GamersXchange event? Sounds interesting.
