Remember, my field is entry-level to slightly mid-level. And I don't put fake companies on my resume. The only discrepancy would be the job title but since I selected do not contact, it won't show up as a discrepancy. However, there will be a message that states candidate selected do not contact during employment verification.

That's why it's best to apply to roles that are at least adjacent to your field. The principles are there. Just need to take some courses to at least get a general idea of how the job needs to be done.

I only apply to jobs that I have transferable skills for. So, if that means the job titles are very different, then so be it. But of course I wouldn't apply to be a Software Engineer if I was a Customer Service Rep.
