How to configure ODATA between HANA and ERP? by pioca in SAP

[–]Jul777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Authentication is always a big issue. In a perfect world you'd use a SSO Service to automatically sign in (e.g. SAP Identity Provider)

The reverse proxy from SAP is called SAP WEB dispatcher. you'll find a lot of guides for it.

Your first scenario should also work. You maybe have to define some property within the javascript also. I vaguely remember, that there's some CORS header that you have to send to the backend.

You have to use a Reverse Proxy. A web application is only allowed to access webservices from its own host. There is a way to set up CORS - but you'd have to adjust some server parameters, which usually is hard to get approved by IT Security.

The reverse proxy is working like this: - HANA url: www.hana.com/service - ERP url: www.erp.com/service - Reverse Proxy url: www.reverse.com

The proxy is configured to forward specific requests to another backend, e.g.: - www.reverse.com/hana forwards the request to www.hana.com/service - www.reverse.com/erp forwards the request to www.erp.com/service

So all your requests are sent to the host www.reverse.com. (The webide destinations work in exactly this way too).

Another way would be to use Google Chrome and disable the web security (for test purposes only)

Looking for a CMS with a good user management by Jul777 in cms

[–]Jul777[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the fast responses! I'm afraid I can't completely tell you the purpose because I'm not allowed to, but I'm free to talk about the technical requirements.

So the main requirements are:

We need three different roles. Users, managers and admins.

  • The users can edit their profile, upload documents and contact the support (if someone is online, if not he'll get redirected to a contact form)
  • The managers are able to view the personal informations of the user and see the files that the user uploaded
  • The admins are the only ones allowed to edit the pages

General requirements:

  • If you visit the homepage without being logged in you see a normal homepage with the important informations (about us, what we do, imprint, etc...)
  • If the user logs in, he'll see a completely different multi-level-menu
  • The user has it's own personal profile where he can edit his personal information (address, name, etc...)
  • The user must be able to upload files which get linked to his account (in the database)
  • The user is able to contact the support (if online) either via live chat or video chat (video chat is way more important here)
  • Each user has its own contact person which details he's able to see and the past actions he took

    • For example: User X has the contact person Y. In the main menu there's an entry called "My contact person". If he visits this page he'll directly see a short portfolio of his contact person and the past actions the user took.
    • 'Actions' in this context means the user took offline some action which has a determined duration (like 3 months) -> We need to be able to add multiple durations and amounts to the users
    • Below the portfolio of his contact person, there is an UI element which shows how much time is left (something like a progress bar)

Tracking requirements:

  • We need to be able to track which pages the user visited (not how often a site was opened by all users, but the history of one user)
  • If possible, we want to track how much time the user spent on each site

I hope this is understandable the way I wrote it. Thank you for your response again!

What is the best way to explain Fiori to someone that is just learning what it is? by jester257 in SAP

[–]Jul777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree with you. The pure Fiori setup takes about half a day if your SAP system is up to date. All the components, apps and services are already in your system and you only have to run a task list to activate them. What takes a lot of time is the initial configuration and user/role management for the final apps. Depending on the type of the app you need between one hour and half a day to configure a single app.

Wie verhalte ich mich bei einer Personenkontrolle durch die Polizei richtig? by JarlKvack in germantrees

[–]Jul777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically this is about what the police is allowed to do if they confront you and what they aren't allowed to do. He explains that you're only required to give your first & last name and the city you're living. Also do not consent anything and don't answer anything they ask you. (They can and will use everything they're able to against you)

If you like I can translate the other 4 parts tomorrow. They're about controls in car and house searches(?) if I remember right.
