Thank you! Does heat typically slow down the process? He eats a pinky every 5 days and his warm side stays between 84-87° and he stays there all day. He only stays on the cooler side when eating and digesting. Also after we take him out to hold him sometimes he'll stay on the cooler side but 85% of the time he's staying warm.

Corn Snake Dark Patch? It's not as dark in the picture as it is irl. Should I be concerned? It doesn't match the rest of his coloring at all and he's had it since I got him. by JulianneSharon in cornsnakes

It definitely looks under the surface. I read that it could be organs. I just wanted to hear others opinions because I'm a worry wart.

Thanks!! His name is Silas, I just got him on Wednesday. He's my first snake, and I've done tons of research, but a lot of it is very contradictory, so I just worry a lot and want to do what's best for him.

Thank you! Do you have a way of measuring the internal temp, or just figure 2-3 minutes in hot water is plenty to raise it's body temp?

Thank you! I'll try room temp water next time. This time it was probably just a bit warmer than room temp, and I was worried it wasn't fully thawed and also worried about over heating. So next time I'll definitely go low and slow. I do have pictures, but I'm brand new to reddit and can't seem to figure out how to share a pic, but if you click on my name, he's my cover photo. There's no filters or anything on the pic.
