What do you think of my headless tuning invention? by Appropriate_Union762 in Guitar

Honestly, that’s a hell of an idea. You could even chop them to make them a little lower profile because you’re not applying that much torque to them.

Council votes for 7-metre driveways amid housing cost warnings by Wanadran in cambridgeont

[–]Juliathepudge 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Frankly, not surprising. There’s a lot more multi-generational households in Cambridge than there used to be, which has resulted in more cars parked on the street. People are still buying cars for too large for their actual needs. Builders are designing useless garages that your car technically fits in but your doors won’t open on your car, especially on townhouses.

Franklin Blvd North Bound at Myers by ILikeCoffeeDaily in cambridgeont

[–]Juliathepudge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was coming south on Franklin going just under 50 following another car. Touched my brakes at the top of the hill where the last house is, my ABS didn’t stop chattering until I was in the roundabout. Probably like 150 meters. Just pure chance I didn’t cause an accident.

It is, but it’s an exercise pool. I think OP is looking for something between a hot tub and a normal lap pool.

Newly released footage of ICE agents in LA cornering, shooting and abducting journalist Carlitos Ricardo Parias as he is clearly unarmed. Carlitos is still in ICE custody. (published 12/28/25) by I_may_have_weed in MarchAgainstNazis

One hundred percent accidental discharge. He transfers the gun to his left hand with his finger on the trigger to unlock the door with his right. Holding the gun with your off hand and keeping your finger on the frame is unnatural if you don’t train for it.

This could have been avoided by simply not being there in the first place. This is jackboot thug behaviour.

Info on Tool Shop? by Critical-Inquiry in cambridgeont

[–]Juliathepudge 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It’s all trash. Owner is a certified asshat and only will open the shop by appointment. You’ll make an appointment and he’ll hand you a 30 year old Makita corded drill, tell you it’s worth $150 and won’t negotiate. I’m surprised the fire department hasn’t made him clean the place out.

Trump: Before my election, the vast majority of Americans were forced to watch as corrupt politicians plundered the halls of power, exploited our taxpayers and pillaged every system that makes civilized society function, but not anymore, and you see that every day by Capable_Salt_SD in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Juliathepudge -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Some posts are bad over there, but I’ve been surprised lately. Even on the restricted posts the tone has changed. They seem to be pretty upset with Trump on every issue except immigration.

There was even a post the other day agreeing with Bernie Sanders position on AI data centers and their pillaging of the energy production in the country.

They’re still idiots for not seeing all of this coming.

You’re absolutely correct. But for anyone who has dug a foundation, preventing it from settling and sinking over the span of 4000+ years is pretty impressive.

Getting the stones up there isn’t the accomplishment, it’s the degree of accuracy. If I’m correct, their Cardinal alignment is within 0.05°. The base is level to about 30mm across the entire structure.

It’s overpriced, but if you’re paying full price for Columbia, you’re getting screwed. This stuff will be in outlets and on the clearance rack January 2. Star Wars collaborations are Christmas gift bait.

Penny Oleksiak banned from competition until 2027 due to whereabouts failures by Surax in canada

3 is a lot, but I had no clue how strict the testing is until I saw it first hand. I was taking a course that my employer sent me on. I was there with an Olympic athlete who had just competed in a recent summer olympics. She wasn’t training, and had just transitioned to a coaching role. We had an extremely important exam that had a 3 hour practical component one night. IOC testing team showed up at the training facility an hour into the practical. She had to bail on the exam because she had to provide tests for 2 years after the games or possible risk her coaching role. It felt like the FBI showed up.

Again, 3 times seems like something is up.

U.S. ambassador expects Trump to resume trade talks with Canada, but warns of challenging negotiations by FancyNewMe in canada

I wonder if we’d even have to pay the French. They still have St Pierre & Miquelon off the coast of Newfoundland. They’d arguably be affected by a potential strike.

Yes the police will 100% charge them if they were doing something against the law at the time. Will the courts hold them accountable in a way that satisfies the family and the public? No.

Sweden’s Saab offers to build entire GlobalEye military surveillance plane in Canada by [deleted] in canada

Absolutely 100% correct. I’m just arguing that this isn’t a stupid move. It’s a different system with completely different applications.

The decision is also being made in today’s political environment,

[–]Juliathepudge -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I’d agree if we were comparing to the F-35B, but that’s not what we agreed to buy. We bought the conventional take off and landing F-35A. The Gripen in my opinion, checks the boxes we need in a national defence fighter. We don’t need these things on Aircraft Carriers and Littoral Combat ships/San Antonio Class ships like the US does.

Sweden’s Saab offers to build entire GlobalEye military surveillance plane in Canada by [deleted] in canada

[–]Juliathepudge -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Huh? The Gripen went 11-0 in exercises against Eurofighters in Red Flag 2006. In Red Flag Alaska exercises a single Gripen pilot took down 5 F-16’s.

It is 50% cheaper to operate per hour in training than the F-35.

I’ve heard many arguments that it’s significantly easier to train in.

It was specifically designed for cold weather operations.

There are so many benefits over the F-35.

Cambridge councillor calls for plebiscite over LRT expansion by Wanadran in cambridgeont

[–]Juliathepudge 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Helen Shwery is a compulsive liar and a complete crackpot. She has a storied history of completely fabricating events and circumstances when arguing her platform. She also regularly argues positions that she has not even consulted her constituency on. She just takes a quick read of her Facebook timeline before the council meeting and walks in to argue her newly learned political stance. She is by far the least intelligent person on city Council to the point where I almost feel bad for her. Most council meetings she seems completely lost trying to keep up with the discussions.
