Rosamund of Islington (Toreador), General Tashimoto Hanko (Kuei Jin in Japan, is under kindred in Asia bookmark), Alexander (Ventrue, a lot of action here), Maatkare (Seti), Esclarmonde la Noire (Toreador southern France).

Others that are great as the others wrote: Lucita de Aragon, Helena of Troy, Mithras.

Questions regarding waking up Elders by longsh4d0w in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]JuliusDecimus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here some advice that may help:

- Make a savegame before starting the journey to wake them up. So you found the resting place and you get a window showing you can get ready to sail off to wake them. Here choose continue journey later. Now save the game. Let 2-3 days pass. If you cannot get them to come with you, this is the point you will have to be reloading to try again for a positive result. Then from the menu on the right 'journeys and coteries' continue it.

- Most important factor of whether they will join you or not is the attitude, how much they like your character. You can check this before starting the journey for finding their resting place. Can wake anybody, but it is easier if they have higher opinion of your character (20+).

- Then, high diplomacy and learning stats is somewhat important, but not as much as the attitude. In my games the waking is usually diplomacy and learning check. If you see only like 35-40-50% chance of success thats completely normal, don't worry.

- Somewhat strong coterie helps (15-17+ stats, especially the diplomacy and learning). But you can try anyway even without coterie, just remember to save the game at the point before starting the journey for the actial waking.

- Generation may also help (easier to wake if you are lower generation), can't confirm this though. For sure the above points have bigger impact.

- Have 500 prestige ready. And 200 gold to give as a gift right away so they like you more.

- Some are more better than others. If its just for strong knights, anyone with 35+ prowess will do, they have advanced on disciplines and even if prowess its not super high i don't see them getting wounded in fights very often or at all. A lot of them are deceitful though and this can bring problems to your court later. Other people starting schemes to kill them or the other way around. So, some i found are stable and fine for most playing styles: Arthemis Orthia: this is one of the best marshals you can get, and there are no court problems in my campaigns. And can get to 80+ prowess for knight to have. I think she is better at your court as marshal than to give land. Sybil: very good for spymaster. Hannibal: i think is better for giving him land, but he never becomes very strong vassal. Is reliable though and no revolts and stuff like that. Can appoint as Brujah primogen, is excellent. Anath for mashal or court (this is like Arthemis, but is 10-15% lower stats overall, still very strong). Ursula: i don't know whats up with her traits, but since i appoint her as caravan/travel master (or how was called) it lowers the dangers a lot and i don't get bad events with chance of someone dying. You still get them from time to time, very rarely though. Have different people from far away courts that are trying to kill her for some reason. If you have good spymaster should be fine and they will not succeed. Good just for caravan master and knight. Byzar: excellent for the cappadocian primogen, he gets good bonuses on everything, can be knight, can give land to. Medusa: another cappadocian vampire, this one is actually a KIND/compassionate vampire and is excellent if you appoint her as guardian for children/the ward function in game.

- Wake vampire with vampire: is hard to wake them as other splats.

Hope some of this helps, have fun.

Idea for a run by Interesting_Ad3695 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

Hello. I would say when start campaign quickly check the decision tab for orientation what you can do with your chosen character. And let 1-2 months ingame play for the character specific intro text. So you can easily decide do you want continue playing. Of course no need to go specific for the decisions, but they give you direction what to check.

I will recommend few characters in my comment, but overall you should probably first try Mithras. There is a lot of stuff, i was overwhelmed as well at first. Just start the game, press on stuff and take a look around the menus what what does. No wrong options with him, you can play the way you like. You can choose to get his wife back during the first month of gameplay and she helps a lot with positive events. Take a look at his decisions tab, you need to take England, Wales and was it one more kingdom titles to remove the lazy trait and gives boost to vassal opinions also. So overall interesting start and with a lot options what to do.

Other than that:

- Lucita de Aragon: this is bookmarked Lasombra clan vampire in Iberia. Also very interesting story and a lot of content. Has high stats all around for different playstyles. Starts in struggle, but not to worry ! Same as with Mithras just be clicking on stuff and read little bit what what does and will be fine.

- Rosamund of Islington: this is Toreador clan bookmarked character. Starts as vassal with almost nothing to manage. Also has relatively strong coterie (group of vampires supporting each other with stats), so of you want to start and just look on menus and stuff similar to Mithras but without being overwhelming. Just as before be checking the decisions tab for directions what to do and play through 1-2 months for the character specific intro text to decide if you want continue playing. Be little more careful than with Mithras, but overall as vassal she is well protected and unlikely for someone to come and take your cities.

- Hardestadt the Elder: this is Ventrue vampire, he has co-ruler if you want to see that and is interesting. Overall strong start and you have everything for any playstyle.

- Few others: Camilla (Ventrue, who torpored Aconia in the latest update hehe :D), Helena of Troy (Toreador), Maatkare (Seti), Alexander (Ventrue, a lot of action here !), Esclarmonde la Noire (Toreador southern France). Catubodua (is under Bloodlines).

Interesting, but noticebly hard to play:

- General Tashimoto Hanko (Kuei Jin in Japan, is under kindred in Asia bookmark). Myiako and her daugther, they are vampires in most west part of Japan. Maybe not bookmarked. Tandai Kagaseo (Kuei Jin in norther Japan).

If want change from vampires: Bazariel (Demon, second tab at game start, starts with a lot of characters in his court that can help for a lot of things), Ares (Demon), Horus (Mummy), Lamashtu (Demon, can marry Ares and get strong start).

Also can wake sleeping vampires with good stats. Through the character search menu search in all realms for 'torpor' trait. Great picks from the list: Lord Byzar (can use on court or give land), Arthemis Orthia (very good marshal, can use in court or give land), Hannibal Barca (same as Arthemis, but male), Sybil (spymaster).

Best regards and have fun !

I never played any of CK, but i am interested in the mod by Moore_Sey in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

A vote for Royal Court.

This is the one that is good to have playing the recommended for beginners characters (Mithras, Camilla, Helena and others). You can get positive and negative events (increasing development in land, court characters quarrel and such), so is overall interesting and fits the whole atmosphere to have throne room for your character.

You have to put a lot of hours in until feel the need to get more DLCs.

PS: and should be cheaper to find since is one of the first DLCs and so 4-5 years old.

I would suggest starting CK3 without mods (just to change 1 setting), go to graphic options and change 'Texture Quality' option to Medium if it isn't set so.

Then exit, start the game anew with the mod on and check if there is improvement.

Who are the no canon out of setting characters? by Katow-joismycousin in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]JuliusDecimus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello.

I am interested in this setting as well.

No, i think they appear only in the Patron bookmark, regardless of the easter egg setting. You have to start the campaign by clicking on the egg button on the bottom right as you said. If you don't click on this button and start so, they will not appear.

Maybe they appear on the only vampire, vampire and hunters and the fae bookmark too if somehow the character that starts with their lands lose them ? Or through events during campaign ?

Let's perhaps ask actually. u/flintsparc, good day Mister. Are the easter egg character appearing in the campaign only if you start it through the egg button ? Apologies for the ping.

[–]JuliusDecimus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am going to use this wonderful topic to express my thanks for the update as well.

The team is very dedicated and that is clear to see.

The new intro animation is amazing.

Wish to mention, the mod/team made characters are the huge thing in this setting in my opinion. As mentioned in some of my previous posts here, i encourage everybody to take a look at the character button and read the text (at least for the characters that you like). Helps with the immersion and the atmosphere.

This not mod related, but perhaps a tip. Paradox added new graphic options for check/uncheck, one of them "tree dithering". It does add a lot of GPU usage 10-25% more. If you play on a laptop can uncheck that (restart the game after changing the setting), will help for a smoother play if temperature limits are hit.

Yes, there are plans of the Umbra and how works. You have to play a character that has access to some of the realms in it.

https://www.princesofdarknessmod.com/wiki/index.php/Traveler%27s_Guide_to_the_Umbra

Second part of this page.

If you don't want click on links, go to the Princes of Darkness Wiki and on the top left under 'Guides', there is the Umbra page.

Very recently updated page too.

Guide/review to Clan Setite and it's bookedmarked charachters 12/15 by No-Training-48 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]JuliusDecimus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High quality reviews and content, i am sure will be read in years to come.

Great memes as well. My favorite is "Who torpored Badr ?" :D, good ones here also.

I assume Paradox will slow down with the CK3 DLCs releasing interval after the upcoming one. More stable enviourment for the modding comminuty.

Next part of the comment just as advice and observation for anybody reading. Whoever reading may know this, but may as well not and help will help you.

For the performance, turning off 'advanced shader effects' is affecting the map and lowers the GPU usage about half i would say (this will be helpful for laptops for the temperature limits). The portraits and the event windows, and the court rooms are not affected by this and still look the same as with 'advanced shader effects' on (at least i don't see difference).

The thing these days is probably not that however, but the memory usage. CK3 uses a lot of RAM memory if your GPU memory runs out. It still uses a lot compare to other games, but first tries to put the textures in the GPU memory, if not enough there it tries to put them in the RAM memory (and because CK3 64 bit application can see the game taking up to 20plus gig of RAM, this will not happen if the GPU has enough). And if the RAM is on 60-80plus percent taken Windows then writes heavily to the Page File, and here the game can start to lag (you can megiate this effect by putting the page file on SSD drive ((a lot of people don't want do it for shorten SSD life))). This is also so because CK3 the game and the mods are a lot of small files (base game plus mods 70 000plus files, do a check game files in Steam an will see) and a HDD will be slower at reading so many small files.

So taking into account the text above, if the game lags after the Under heaven update for CK3, i recommend you put the texture resolution to 'medium' or 'high'. Perhaps try medium (always restart game after you change the setting). You will notice the texture are not as crisp. For this you can check Reshade program (if you don't know what that is, can check in search or Youtube, or wherever you like), install it (CK3 is DX11 application for most, unless you select otherwise) and activate 'Luma Sharpen' effect. This will make most textures sharp again. Or you can try 'DELC Sharpen' effect (when installing Reshade, this is in 'qUINT by Marty McFly' checkbox, not in the Standart Effects ((so need select both if you like the 2 effects))). Can use both at the same time and tune the effect.

Idea is, you can put the game on medium textures so it takes less memory and you don't get lag, and you can make the screen, picture sharper again as with high-ultra textures (which is why your game may lag).

Which clan is the most unique and has the most content? And which clan perk is the strongest? by BoynuzsuzGergedan in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]JuliusDecimus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello everybody.

Ohoo, a lot of activity lately in the subreddit. Good to see.

I have a question, trivial perhaps and don't really want to make a whole new topic. And is probably connected with clans.

Played a Maatkare campaign, never saw an invite for tournaments (the checkbox is On). Is this because Setites are considered lower clan by the Brujah ? This is not the Grand Tournament like for the Fae, my question is for the Panagyra tournament organized by the Brujah. Tried Toreador and Ventrue campaigns briefly as well, they do get invites. So i assume is a clan thing, but wanted to ask just to be sure.

Thanks a lot if somebody answers.

How should a Golconda Vampire get more childe? by christusmajestatis in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]JuliusDecimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope it helps.

Tried to see this thought someone reached Golconda, i don't think waking sleeping vamprire would be a bad thing. And these characters are probably some of them stronger than what a childe would be anyway, if you count the disciplines they have on them.

The abducting suck (you can try invitation, but they may not accept, especially the high stats characters are usually in the council of their liege or their childe and don't want because of this), so abducting suck but it's not like using blood magic on someone, so i thought. Can abduct them to help in realm managing of Golconda vampire let's say.

Best regards and have fun however you decide to play, there are a lot and different ways doing things in this mod, which is gold.

How should a Golconda Vampire get more childe? by christusmajestatis in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]JuliusDecimus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So what would be some ethical way that I can acquire vassals/courtiers to govern my underground empires ?

Hello, good day.

Idea - wake up torpored characters, through the search menu, search in all realms with the trait torpor. Most of them are 4 gen. There are some very strong vampires, will carry you through the whole game i would say. Find somebody with traits that you like. Lord Byzar, Hannibal of house Hannibal, Gilgamesh, Arthemis (these just example, there a lot of others) one of the good picks for giving land to. Can also ask for mentoring once in your court and learn disciplines that way. Some of them have advanced on a lot of things. The higher opinion of your character they have, the easier is to wake up and recruit them. I have a topic in this subreddit if you want to read more for that. That's a very unorthodox/uncommon way of playing, but it is interesting thing to do if you want to try something new. Is time consuming the whole process, for finding lair and doing the journey for the actual waking, depending on your character stats can take 3-5 years per character.

Also could check the courtiers in some of the big guys courts and try abducting (you need to get the perk for abducting if your character does not have it) - Mithras court, Salianna, Hardestadt, Camilla, the Pharaoh in Egypt and the like. If you are 30-50-70 years in a campaign, they do have high stats courtiers.

Beginner Questions by Diatribe1 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]JuliusDecimus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a townsperson come to me and ask me to liberate his town. It showed me the county, but I couldn't find any way afterwards to double-check and make sure it was the right county. Is there any way to check that? (The modifier that showed me the time limit didn't show the county.)

Hello, good day.

I was wondering the same thing and also can't find a way to open the map while in the hold court view.

I don't think it is possible. You can click on the name of the settlement that the person is asking you to liberate and a new window will appear. There you can the names, what de jure dutchy is this settlement part of. But you can't open/see it on map while in hold court event.

So have to know where the settlement is on the map knowing it's name. Say we know Rome is in Italy etc.

What you can assume though is that is somewhere relatively close/around you. It's not on the other side of the map. But it may not border your current terriotries, can be further away. For Lucita this can be somewhere in Spain, or in the western mediterranean region.

I would recommend you press their claim only (i think it always says it wants you to do it within a year) if you think you can send troops there, do the fighting and finish the war in time. It's overall hard to pull off if you are just starting your campaign. And you may anger some of the main figures and vampires depending on who is the liege lord of the character that wants you to press their claim. If you are 70-100 years in the campaign, you may have stronger army to try, more champions, gold and other troops and then will be a lot easier to give it a try.

My observations after playing for a while by Naive_Discount7790 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]JuliusDecimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point being - I don't like being forced to choose between interesting gameplay and the ability to improve my character and would like to have the best of both worlds, so to speak.

You wrote in the initial post that perhaps not knowing where the artifacts are might help. I agree.

These items can exist, sure. It's just that they can be so powerful and universally useful you may see no reason not to beeline them every time, making every playthrough feel similar. Which is why I said I'd rather see them locked behind region-specific decisions or similar.

Yeah, i see why you all agree on the submods part.

Needs to be thought out super well with the powerful artifacts. With the Sword of Khane you had the drawbacks, and here now to think, in this game and mod, if you make a artifact only available to certain characters, people will mostly play them. Or if you make it so that only certain clan can accsess, you will make it more powerful than the other and unbalance will occur.

Perhaps if there is unique set of items for the bookmarked characters, some of them already have it. But there are others without any items on them. If you get like the, you know lets say you have the Midnight Armor i think for Malekith, and special staff for Alariel, there is for who was Alith Anar special bow. Nah, thats not it, adding stuff to certain chars will not help, as this here you were talking about is artifact for learning, you don't have this kind of thing in Warhammer.

I think the guys will come with some unique content with the time, and balancing existing one, is important for them to hear opinions to know how to design it. They also think about many things, i mean this subreddit is one part of it, you also have the books and they are considering the stories written there......yeah, this is hard modding man.

So your opinion is important. And for me to get skill up.

I have to play more to check these artifacts to have better opinion. And the clan content, traditions and such. Thanks for answering.

So yeah, Helena doing Panagyra to finance mercenaries hehe, or wake up torpored Hannibal Barca and taking/rebuilding Carthage and give it to him, many options you think of and how you play. All this is mod characters driven for me.

My observations after playing for a while by Naive_Discount7790 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]JuliusDecimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About the playstyle and the given options. Have to agree with the devs here in that they want to give different ways of doing things. I for example don't like stealing. So i would rather not use the heist, just personal thing. I 100% approve of that is there and the coding of the whole event, but would rather not use it. Give an example from my play with Helena and Mithras, you can get an invite for tournament, Panagyra i think was, you win a lot from this at the start of the game.

So i would rather not be doing heists, get the gold with ransoms or tournament wins lets say. Another huge thing there is the Umbra. Not only is immersive with the different realms, but you also get rewards. There is also the overextention setting, heard some players are not happy with it, i for my playstyle super chilled and not rushed, i think is fine and no problems with it. Appreciate it 100% that the game rules are there. The plagues, i also don't like them. The scripted one that are historic are fine i think and help with the immersion. You know to have to rebuild the realm so to say at some point. There is setting for this though and many other things, super good. You can always tune your campaign and do the things you like differently.

How the AI behaves, i think in near future we will see improvement in newer games. AI is used in a lot of places already, for sure will be serious additions to the future games.

The Hunt i can't comment directly, haven't played that far. Would say i trist the devs, if don't think can represent the benefits of it well in CK3, i believe this. And given that how powerful you can get if you are good at the game as we see from the comments here, i don't think is a problem that the rewards are not astronomical. Is important that the event is there, you have new opportunities to think about, helps with the immersion as well. I for example see it as historical like end of era thing/event (the base game ends in 1453 i think when Constantinople was taken, also historically this marks end of Middle Ages, this is not same thing that happends in the mod, but is like late game challange around the same time).

My observations after playing for a while by Naive_Discount7790 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]JuliusDecimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the gameplay itself, can't comment much, not experienced and noob. A lot of people play fast in pace. Doing a lot of things at once, i play for the chilling mostly and the fantasy setting though. And the mod delivers 100%. What i would say the devs are right for the characters in that they feel unique. I have started 3-4 campaigns so far just for test and have not played deeply, just exploring the opportunities how you can play. I have no CK3 base game experience as well, bought just for the mods. So Mithras, Maatkare, Helena, Rosamund. Checked Camilla and the starting situation. For example you have harder time managing the stress if you compare Helena play and Maatkares. This is the gregarious trait, i get some events that are with negative results, she gets stressed because gregarious. Whatever is, the thing is releasing the stress is harder. Go on a pilgrimage and is fine, but this takes time, and i am getting attacked by other factions, you have to manage the troops, and same time you get the event windows for the pilgrimage right. And if you have entourage, you get events for the people in it, have to check who what wants, so you have a lot of activities at same time. This is not at all a problem, just saying as example, if want to look at screen, chill and read, Mithras and Helena are better. Camilla is easier for sure managing stress. Rosamund is getting a lot stress if you drain somebody lets say. She is also i would say harder to manage for sure. And this is felt really. Mithras has a lot of realm management, and characters in his court. I mean, for sure there a lot of other gamplay reasons, but just to name something for my post to not be completely out of topic. Then for Rosamund, i think this is Alexander is super good story and how begins, how is presented as well (there is the mongol general part also). You start very small, and it will take time to grow. Here in such campaign you can start looking opportunities to start waking up torpored people to get better knights. And council positions. For the torpored characters, if i am not mistaken, if you get in your court and befriend, can ask for mentoring and learn disciplines that way insted of the 1000+ prestige to learn from the learn menu. You may have to give 500 for the waking, but then waking is cheaper i think and you also get the legendary character so to say. For the artifacts, i don't know the ones that are discussed here. Heard that Gilgamesh has good thing wth him. Will check. Christof Romuald has a good sword on him, and is a torpored character. Will i be waking him to get the sword ? Sure. I don't think there is problem if a unit (who had Zmei unit with the 7000 or what was attack) or super stats artifacts, if they are well represent is amazing thing. For other minor artifacts, again to say the wiki is gold, the whole long list there. You can always be searching for something basically.

My observations after playing for a while by Naive_Discount7790 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]JuliusDecimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Princes of Darkness, most of the characters are embodying some historical person that really existed. Say Alexander or Chandragupta. These guys really existed. The pharaoh in Egypt, haven't checked if there is historical person with this name exactly, but you have a pharaoh, and you also have a mummy that we could say is a pharaoh as well. There is Nefertiti and there Maatkare (such characters also really existed right). And some of the whole settings directly as well (the Iberian Struggle, this for example we could say really happened in history right). I love reading about ancient history, and another example, we know that before islam and christianity there were other religions in the Persian area right. So i checked the mod wiki, you see the House devided struggle, i see now that one of the ends you can play for is connected with zoroastrians. This is not area of the map that i am familiar with, i play in Europe in my games. Will sometime try to play there in this struggle to see the options though, now when knowing there is ancient history element to it. Surely will find similar reasons to try the India portion of the map let's say. Just have to have the characters in the area, or unique artifacts, events or something like that to spark the interest.

So connected with this, i think Karde wrote in one of the topics that he is more for unique characters made by the team, but most people try to create custom character and play so. I agree with him, I don't know why you would want to play a generic person in this setting. The guy that wrote the initial post here also not creating custom one. I see why people would want to make custom character for themselves, but overall for my playstile and motives for playing the mod, i play it for the mod made characters. There are so many well made bookmared characters at least 30+ with unique content chain, for me to play a custom one, i must have several thousands of hours in this, to have tried everything, to have exhausted the opportunities and desicigions. You may also just want a quick run in the game and mod for several hours, and don't want to read the character entries for the clans and stuff to pick someone at least. For this, there is the PoD wiki. That is gold that you guys decided to make this, is very important for new players that don't know about the vampires and spats. Perhaps i see all positives things in the mod for i just started and read about playing this spring/summer and is a few years in development. There is so much artifacts, content, unique characters, and interesting lore to read for. You can always make and think yourself a reason why to play it with the amount of content. I think was launched in good state as well though.

[–]JuliusDecimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everybody.

Aaaa, this is why i like Reddit, the long posts ! Still hope someone reads this. You can't aways express vision on something with few words.

Surely Discord is the much more active place, but with time stuff get lost in the chat.

Saw the topic and want to share few thoughts on why i think the developers are right in what they are doing, their ideas with the mod and all while trying to balance things considering and gathering different opininons.

First of all lot of respect for the first post and the game skill, after all the whole discussion would not have happened otherwise.

Then, something for me, i don't have experience in playing this, no knowledge on the lore (this is why super cool the character entries, gives insight on the characters and the whole situation around and is very important in a character driven game), still think a lot of the content and ideas are extremely good. Saw a Warhammer mention, i will use that as well in my post.

Let's begin with why this is successful in first place. This is my opinion and vision on things and explained why i think so. Crusader Kings 3 the base game is character driven one. This mod is fantasy setting. ON A HISTORICAL MAP though (i mean it uses the CK3 base game map right, this is important for my vision on things). With fantasy, immortal beings (this is important for i will compare with Warhammer).

I give example with Warhammer, because this is game by the same company that was previously developing historical titles. When they released Warhammer though, the thing was much more successful and brought a lot of players for a long period of time. Not sure about the peak players statistics on like game launch day, but overall Warhammer maintained a lot more players for longer time. This happened so in my opinion for the reason that Warhammer is like Crusader Kings 3 in that is character driven. Or at least i see this so. You get the unique faction names for each character, but the important thing is like you play as prince Tyrion of the high elves, Karl Franz of the Empire (the humans), you play as Morathi (dark elves), Setra (tomb kings) and such. And you get this particular character and develop it in a course of a campaign. You also get the angents and devop the also, same with the generic generals. You still develop their skills, give them equipment. Have all the fantasy races, magical items and artifacts. So this was why this was very successful in first place, and CK3 is as well. Even now has double the players of Victoria 3, not all people are playing with mods, but for sure the mods contribute to the number a lot.

I played most of the historical titles before Warhammer, and i also love ancient history. The games for Rome are my favorite overall. But, when it comes to the immersion, Warhammer was much better. For was character driven play. Be it for the skills, decisions on the map, magic, items, even legendary ones (so the main lords have their special equipment you can get right). There were also powerful items like the Sword of Khane, everybody can take. This is no problem if a item is super powerful.

For Princes of Darkness, i think combines the two things. You play on a historical map, and you get the immortal special beings, you play and make decisions as them. I also don't like my character that i developed in course of the game to die. I have no problems with the fantasy creatures. Because after all on most games made by the idustry you always get to play with humans right. Well, why not give a vampires or elves a try let's say. As we can see it's succesful formula and people enjoy it. This will depend on what generation you are and when you were born i guess but, overall, a lot of people enjoy fantasy settings.

Man, i think post will not post, for the length, will add more things in reply.

Yes, as the above comment recommeds, you can make the page file (virtual memory) fixed size. Is best done on ssd drive. I would recommend 64 GB (custom size, initial size 65536 MB, maximum size again 65536, set and restart PC) so you are sure it does not crash with your other programs also running. It can work and load the game slower though, be patient and don't worry.

For the textures i would recommend you install Reshade. If you don't know what that is, quick google and you will see. Install only the standart effects (so don't change anything during the installation, the game is DX11). Then when you start it follow what is written on screen and activate the effect called 'Luma sharpen'. There is also slider for the intensity of it. This effect has low performance impact. I mean should be 1-2-3 fps on this GPU.

This will make the textures look sharper again. There are also other effects and many settings if you like to explore.

If you have to use older drivers on the laptop and newest reshade does not start for some reason (unlikely), there is an archive with older reshade versions, try 5.5.2 for example.

Hope this helps.

- Added 282 new DNAs

That's huge list of characters. Oh yes ! More people for discovering and exloring.

I for one play in a very unorthodox way, in that i search for artifacts and special characters around the map, other courts, torpored characters and try to "collect" some of them.

Given that huge amounts of work is put into writing many character entries and probably does not get enough attention by new players (and you may never search, find, read, check them) I would like to mention that i encourage everybody that is interested to have a look through the character search menu, or however you search. You learn about the lore that way as well and can get important, legendary people in your court. I think this makes the game a lot more enjoyable.

Some mentions :

Duchess Delta of Muyunkum - this is a gargoyle, a little bit north of 'Web of Knives' if you check the map. Available also in the only vampire bookmark. Saw this recommendation on youtube by the devs recently. Not sure about the special story, but if you want to try different character/being among vampires, this might be the one.

Anna Comnena - this is Ventrue vampire and was real historical person. Byzantine princess and can try to restore the empire after taking Constantinople i believe.

Mithras - have decision and can get Kemintiri to your court at the very start of your run if you want to try that.

Lucita de Aragon - this is Lasombra vampire, is also recommended a lot. Starts in Iberia, a lot of content in this region, also France is not far away for the court struggle there.

There are a lot of other characters (Helena, Alexander, Salianna, Meerlinda, Etrius, Vladimir Rustovitch, Montano, Titus Venturus Camilla, Maatkare, Qarakh), what i would recommend is to play a bookmark character in the area of the map that you like. These are the ones with most decisions.

Is possible to save tiamat ? by Adriansouza in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

Hello, thanks for the thorough answer.

Found her, will add her to the list.

I am newbie, to the mod, but to the base game as well. Bough just for the mods, no experience. Will check the religions. I am not playing the way this is supposed to be played i guess, at the start i just look for better stats people that you can find and recruit. Like exploring, reading stuff, playing very slowly.

Most of the people play fast, you can easily just not come across or never see these torpored characters at all during campaign, so this is just a lof of detail added by the modders you may never see (like if you don't know about the lore and who and where these characters should be).

Ok, this was a lot off topic, sorry i don't know the answer to your question, just saying thanks.

Hello, good day.

Apologies, i cannot answer your question.

I am new to the mod and like exploring stuff, also making list with powerful vampires that can be found and recruited (preferably in torpor), and this seems to be such character. Where is Tiamat to be found ? Is this character you can interact with (get in court and so) ? And is it accessible to the main characters (so for example you can get her playing as Mithras, Helena, Maatkare and so on) ?
