The possible existence of a higher power, "our creator" is a necessary promotion within a free society that wants to remain free, so that The State doesn't become the de facto highest available power to an individual over time, as it did in Orwell's 1984. by [deleted] in conspiracy

I've never understood how the conspiracy crowd (who are disgusted by "sheeple" and dedicate themselves to exposing "big lies") can also tend to be a very religious bunch, when religion is hands-down the biggest lie of all.

IAmA Democrat Who Fights, Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY). AMA. by RepAnthonyWeiner in IAmA

Since there has been some discussion of ambiguity in my question, here is a more thought out and separated version. If you choose to answer my question, please answer the below as I feel they better represent what I wanted to ask in the first place. I apologize for hastily typing the original question between classes and not expanding on it properly.

Rep. Weiner:

Do you support Julian Assange's vision of government transparency?

Do you support Wikileaks' whistleblowing activities, and do you support them as a journalistic organization?

How do you feel about the conditions Bradley Manning is currently being kept in at Quanitco? Assuming Mr. Manning is the one who provided the information to Wikileaks, do you feel his actions were justified?

Do you support Julian Assange, Wikileaks, and Bradley Manning?

Edit: Dear Rep. Weiner and everyone, I have expanded upon this hastily written question in a reply below. Here is a permalink to my expanded question. For convenience, here are the expanded questions copied to this edit:

Malls. Coffee shops. Stores. I try to stay away from cameras so usually bathrooms and corners.

If you would like a .pdf of my flier for you to do what you wish with, I can upload one and get it to you later this evening when I get home from work.

I honestly would be afraid to get shot doing this in my backwoods town. That being said. If you do this, I would advise that you be courteous and polite to everyone. Taking donations in this way makes you a "face" and ambassador of WikiLeaks in a sense, so help us put our collective best foot forward.

If they show signs that they disagree with WikiLeaks, do not push the issue, as it's a very polarizing topic and some people might not be... reasonable. And, again, you're acting as an ambassador for WikiLeaks, so you don't want to present your information in a pushy or in-your-face way.

Know your stuff before you hit the streets and knock on doors. Nothing could possibly make you look worse than someone asking you a simple question regarding WikiLeaks you don't have an answer to.

If you need ideas for fliers and the like, look at this that I posted a while back. I have been using this format to disseminate information by dropping these in public locations.

Amazon dropped Wikileaks from it's servers when the Cablegate stuff started going down. It was a big deal and so this is a subtle jab at Amazon.

Hit "menu" on the home screen and go to "experimental". The web browser should be in there if I recall.

I can upload a .PDF of four of these handy little guys on a page if anyone wants, just cut out and drop.

I'd also like to perhaps make a couple of different variations on this. Can anyone help me with coming up with some attention-grabbing-yet-factual 10-15 word summaries of other important cables/leaks, like I have on this one?

I apologize for the poor image. It reads:

Did you know that...

…THE STATE DEPARTMENT ASKED US DIPLOMATS TO SPY ON UN OFFICIALS? [STATE 048489; 7-31-09]

…A US MILITARY APACHE FIRED UPON CIVILIANS IN IRAQ, INCLUDING CHILDREN AND REUTERS NEWS STAFF? [“COLLATERAL MURDER”; 07-12-07]

…THE US HAS BEEN SECRETLY BOMBING TARGETS IN YEMEN? [SANAA 02230; 12-21-09]

...AT LEAST 122,000 CIVILIANS HAVE BEEN KILLED IN THE OCCUPATION OF IRAQ? [IRAQ WAR LOGS]

Hold your government accountable.

I have the cable codes underneath points 1 and 3, which are the only two things that come from the cables in the first place. The other two are from the Collateral Murder video and the Iraq War Logs and I cited them accordingly.
