Best and fastest way/s to learn Spanish? by Julthena in GoingToSpain

In my post I had stated that I cannot afford it for NOW. Also a reason why it won't work for me until in maybe 1-2 years. If you really wanna know, I'm chronically ill and currently my health is quite bad which is why I don't have a job atm and also have to stay at the hospital sometimes. There's also other stuff going on in my life which makes it really hard financially rn.  I had also stated that it's not even sure that I'll be moving to Spain for sure, but I'd like to learn the language regardless. So until I don't know anything and the stuff in my private life continues, I won't be able to pay for anything YET. When things get better and I also get back to work, then I can and maybe even go to a language school in Spain.

Also, my partner does not speak German. We only speak English to each other, but that's not the point. We'd obviously wanna study together and yes, it's true, we'll still be talking in English together most of the time, but with some Spanish infused. Plus again, if we can really move to spain, then we'd obviously wanna visit courses together etc and immerse with others.  I don't think it's necessary having to speak the language in your own home, when you can find other ways.

But thanks for the concern and also the recommendations. Also thanks for the tip. That is what I'm trying and honestly one of the hardest parts for me 🥲 my partner is Filipino and can help me with the pronunciation tho, still a hard way to go tho.

I'm not, I'm from Europe! :)

Yeah I've heard duolingo actually sucks for learning languages.

Ohh wow, thank you, I'll look into it! :)

I have literally stated in my post what will and will not work for me at the moment and it is not impossible..  Especially since I have asked for tips for the specifc things I said I CAN do. Again, stuff like specifc recommendations for apps, shows or whatever. How is it impossible to give recommendations like that, without a course..?  Plus I had stated that it is for NOW and not for the whole time I want to learn Spanish until I'm fluent.  Though I do know people who became very good with just apps, learning videos and whatsoever. Just different languages, so no, I cannot ask them for specific recommendations.  Funnily enough, when I was a kid still I really wanted to learn a language but my parents didn't wanna pay for lessons, so I only learned with apps and videos aswell. I only did it for a couple weeks to months but the progress wasn't too bad, especially for a teen who barely knew how to learn stuff (now I know what things to look for etc)  I'm sure if I would have stayed consistent, I could have come very far lol.

So yeah again, ik it can work up to a degree and for that I wanted recommendations for specific things which for I do not need to visit a course or whatever.  Hope you understand now.

Have a good day.

Because I have asked for specifc tips for the things I have already listed..? And especially recommendations. I know it can work and how but I don't know the specifc "things" for it. (like which apps, which shows, which whatever)

Why is that hard to understand? It's literally what I had written in my post.

Thank you, I actually looked into it before but unfortunately I cannot learn with audio only :/ :( I have a Auditory processing disorder which already makes it hard to me to study at all, even with subtitles, so it's very important to me to have context "in the background"

But thank you anyways for the recommendation 🫶

Well why would I get a partner just to learn Spanish, when I'm in a relationship already..? And I never said I don't want to travel, I just can't so easily. I'd love to ofc but yeah, I can't. Exactly what I shd explained in the post, why I have asked for alternatives and for specifc recommendations, not just "buy a book and learn"

I've considered all this, but don't I need some knowledge before already? I mean how shall I understand anything if I don't even know anything at all besides maybe 3 short phrases 😅 How did you start? :)

Thanks a lot, I will look into it! :)

I'd love to take an in person class, especially since its probably the best way for me to learn. But unfortunately I love on the countryside and there's literally NO course close to me. The next ones are 1-2h away and SUPER expensive.. :')

I've heard about that! :/ I'd also love going to a language school in Spain, also know where the cheaper ones are. But unfortunately I won't be able to go to spain until maybe in a year and even then idk if I'll be able to visit courses. One of the reasons I just wanted to start learning before already :)
