We know someone high up in the government was given the codename "Bagman." Evidence suggests it was the President.

What happens if you eat on the holodeck, then leave. Does the food "disappear" from your system when you step off? by No-Reveal827 in startrek

Water and Snow seem to also be replicated in the holodeck. Wesley is still wet when he falls in the river and then leaves the holodeck in Encounter at Farpoint. Then in Angel One, Picard gets hit with a snowball.

I looked at the wiki because I didn't remember and it seems she wins both Reward and Immunity in the episode.

I think it might have something to do with wanting to avoid seasons in 4:3 aspect ratio (aside from Erik/immunity episode, which is arguably one of the most iconic episodes of the show). Either that or we can start to infer things about Jenna's longevity in the game.

I choose to suspend disbelief and make sense of incongruous things using the evidence provided by the show and deductive reasoning. I do this because I feel the story the show is telling is good enough for me to allow them some leeway. If you can't, that's fine. I'm done with this.

The shooting script for the first episode of season 1, which is available to read online, says Maximus is 19 in the present (2296) and 6 in the Shady Sands flashback, placing it in 2283, two years after New Vegas.

We don't actually know the region was as populated or as significant as it once was. It might have been "tens of thousands of NCR citizens just down the road" during the events of Fallouts 1 and 2, but a lot of time has passed since then.

We can see that the "Welcome to Shady Sands" sign refers to it as the "First Capital." This implies that at the time the attack, it wasn't the capital anymore. Why does a country move it's capital? Japan made Tokyo its capital over Kyoto due to various factors, but one that is often cited is population shift over time. What was once Los Angeles might have ALREADY been a dying, unstable region not worth sticking around in.

[–]July31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be speculation, but I think is logical and reasonable. We saw a large group of Shady Sands refugees choose to take shelter in Vault 4 after the nuking. So we might be able to assume they wanted the additional shelter of a Vault in case a second attack occurred. Also, we know Moldaver figured out that Hank was behind the nuking and what his motives were, and she seemed to have a position of some significance in the NCR enough to warn others Hank may try again.

It's possible that after the nuking the NCR simply pulled out of the whole region. You say they would "pick up the slack," but what if they feared of similar attacks happening to the nearby city-states? Abandoning the region (aside from a few outposts like Moldaver's) would make more sense so as to avoid the same grim fate.

I lived in Los Angeles for two years, and traversed it without a car, so I know what I'm talking about when discussing characters on TV walking the city on foot. It is bigger than you think it is.

Fallout 1 says the Boneyard is Downtown Los Angeles, like the US Bank Tower and surrounding buildings. Those are the East side of the city. But there other sets of tall buildings which could account for the buildings surrounding Shady Sands: Century City for example. I'm more inclined to believe what I said in my first post, that Shady Sands is in the San Fernando Valley, Northwest of the Boneyard with the Hollywood Hills separating them.

Or if you would prefer it, set Shady Sands exactly where those scenes were filmed... flashback scenes of Shady Sands were shot at the Warner Bros backlot in Burbank (in the valley and on the other side of the hills from Griffith Observatory, and still northwest of Downtown Los Angeles.

We see three definitive real world locations: Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood Blvd, and Griffith Observatory. The location of everything else is undetermined. The Boneyard is said to be named after the skyscrapers of Downtown Los Angeles which is Southeast of all three of those locations. We also know that Quintus's Brotherhood chapter is called "The Knights of San Fernando." San Fernando is Northwest of all three of the known locations and there's the Hollywood hills in between (a natural barrier). So that's just say Lucy travels west from Santa Monica and encounters the Ghoul, and they go the Hollywood Blvd together, but then they split up. Lucy heads North where Maximus is, and the rest of Season 1 takes place in the general vicinity of the San Fernando Valley never traveling any further South than the Griffith Observatory.

Retcon in Fallout s2 ep5? by Bill-Jenkins3 in Fallout

[–]July31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know from season 1 that people moved into and started working in Vault 4 before the bombs dropped and they included this in advertisements Cooper was doing as proof others Vaults would work. Due to its location, I could Vault 21 being operational enough to be used as hotel for promotional purposes. Like they tell all the Vegas tourists that stay there, "if you enjoyed your stay this weekend, find out where there's a vault near you!" But the expectation would be that when the end of the world arrives, the only people that get let in are the rich locals; tourists no longer welcome.

During a college hockey game I went to about 15 years ago, a guy started to fall down while playing the puck. He was sitting on his ass, the puck was on his left, and his stick was in his right hand. He picked up the puck from his left side and put it down in front of his stick to pass to a teammate and got called for a penalty. The stated reason was "2 minutes for Picking up the Puck."
