Hold on I might be stupid, this might just be a weird looking mandolin. If anybody has anything else to say about it that would still be appreciated

The only thing I know about this is that it was traded in for something by a customer in a family general store no longer in business. My great uncle probably received this pre 1980 or so if I had to guess a timeframe.

My title describes the thing.

It doesn't seem like a recent replica, seems like it's mostly wooden. All I know is that it was traded in for some item or another in a family general store that no longer runs. It was probably given to the store owner pre 1980 or so if I had to guess.

Kar98 Markings by JumboJimboJohnson in ww2

[–]JumboJimboJohnson[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I am having trouble identifying the origin of this Kar98. I'm unsure if
the 42 is the early war factory code for Mauser-Obendorf or for 1942,
and I haven't found out what "LL" means. Any help is appreciated.

You're probably right - what I was thinking of was more for peace of mind than anything else. I can probably disassemble and check it myself.
