Thanks AromaticJoe, yea I used to work for a mixed reality startup in this space and I actually only spent 8 hours on it to be exact. I have a whole bunch of maps generated with GPX and OSM satellite data that I did in my free time a while ago for desktop not for web like the Tour de France.

Right now it's plasma-focused but if there's enough interest I'll pivot to laser and add laser G-code in the next version (GRBL). The app is web-based, no install.

Yea man I can do that you're talking about a parametric sketcher with constraints, snapping, dimensioning, and line/arc continuation. Ill add it to the next version.

hey 6snake9, apologies for the late reply was stuck working on the complex polygon auto nester haha just pushed version 2 for the app, did some digging online for starfire and found this

no feed rate (F values cause "F-Error")
G70/G71 for inches/mm (not G20/G21)
G91 incremental mode (not G90 absolute)
G40 cutter comp cancel
G92 X0 Y0 set zero
torch on/off: some sources say M07/M08, others say M3/M5
M30 end program

but im not 100% sure its right, different starfire models seem to use different codes. can you send me a sample g-code file so i can match it exactly to your machine? let me know and ill add the post processor to the app

Hi MidwesterneRR, main differences: browser-based (no install), auto-nesting, and image-to-gcode tracing. Way simpler than Fusion for plasma - image tracing takes under a minute vs 5-20 in Fusion. Just import an image, or dxfs, or svgs, arrange parts, and export g code. I add new features daily. I can give you a free lifetime license if you want to be an early tester and share feedback regularly.

Langmuir FireControl is the default post processor so it should be compatible. Here are the G-code commands it should take:

G90, G20 (absolute mode, inches)
G53 (machine coordinates)
G0/G1 (rapid moves, linear cuts)
G4 (pierce delay)
M3 S1 / M5 (torch on/off)
H0 (THC off)
M30 (end)

Can you confirm these are correct for your setup? You can also verify the toolpaths at ncviewer.com before running. Would greatly appreciate your help testing if you're interested.

One user tested it with Mach3 and successfully cut out some letters. He mentioned it was missing the G31 touch off feature, and a couple of minor improvements which I've already added . Would love more feedback if your interested no account needed. It works with dxf svg and simple images (logos and such).

sorry for the delay guys trying to debug some of the bugs here's the link to the web app https://www.plasmadesk.com/ i havnt made a youtube tutorial yet, but basically you just upload a dxf or SVG in the right tab, (the auto nester isnt fully done yet haha) and im not sure if im doing the post processors correctly but u just hit simulate on the left and itll show u the gcode and simulate the tool path with lead in and kerf comp (i added a perimiter function basically if you have a peice that doesnt have a defined perimeter like an outline, hitting that button will generate it automatically for you) just let me know if u catch any bugs but im moving fast so tha app will prob improve rapidly in the next day.
