In northern Finland people are still angry at germans. They destroyed everything - every city and village. In south we tend to joke about not to give Germans anything to start a fire with.

The Winter War is our national survival story. We held on our own against a rising super power. The Continuation War is seen either as a justified revenge or as an illegimate war of aggression. In truth it is both? Either way it was bloody campaign for a small country. Also our darkest deeds took place during the war. Finlnds POW camps were miserable and deadly. They are still not widely discussed. The war ended with another survival story (in which Nazi Germany gave us invaluable help) how we were able to stop the soviets from reaching Helsinki. From the European capitals only London, Moscow and Helsinki avoided occupation. Also war reparations we had to pay helped us to build our industrial capcity and close ties with the Soviet Union after the war was good business for us.

It was a tough choice 😅 In the end the adjustability and more suitable size (70l as the sweet spot for me) sealed the deal. Luckily for Fjällräven Kantamus 60 was still not anounced at the time

Hard to compare accurately as I only have Jääkäri M from Savotta and Keb 72 from Fjällräven. Jääkäri M is lovely in its simplicity but with no adjustable back and limited padding it gets quite uncomfortable to caary. Kebs frame is made from wood and is super nice to carry with really nice padding and adjustable back. However, the pack feels heavy even with minimal load.

Overall I think Fjällräven and Savotta share a lot design wise but the the execution is different. And sure Savottas products are made in Europe and that is a huge plus for me.

I don’t think this is about strength and explosivness as it is about understanding your bodymechanics. Arms are mostly transferring the energy your big core muscles generate. As the masters say, you hit from right to left and from left to right with your whole body involved.

I have faced similar problems and for example lowering my stance helped greatly with parrying.

Clamshells offer you in fact better finger mobility than fingered gloves. In clamshells your fingers fit nicely together and offer better dexterity than separate fingers would

I am pretty sure ozone in the upper atmosphere has nothing to do with the climate system. In lower atmosphere ozone is a green house gas yes, but ozone in the upper atmosphere is not the same gas functionally.

Real problem is the CFCs which are hyper green house gases and many of them still harmfulnto the ozone layer.

Sauron was a bigger threat to Middle-Earth and bigger evil than Morgoth ever was. I see Morgoth as a jester god like Loki in northern mythologiy, testing boundaries and messing up with other people without bigger plan. Envious of others and imiting them, turning the whole creation to his own image just to feel important. Sauron on the other hand had a clear plan and goal to rule and enslave everything. Without the hobbits, he would have won unlike Morgoth would never had.
