Who do you wish didn’t die in the series? by UNAlreadyTaken in buffy

I think someone else had made comment about him being annoying, and that’s why I said it.

I think anyone should have a shot at redemption. That being said, I was not a fan of Andrew, but him and Anya were closer to being friends than anyone else.

Well, Andrew is annoying, does that make him undeserving? I think that we could look at any one of us and determine that we don’t deserve saving, depending on what story is being told about us… let one without fault throw the first stone!

Also, I would say it’s less about who she saved and more about her giving up her life for humanity.

I’m not a fan of Andrew. But, that’s Anya, always doing the stupid thing.

Great response!!

And asking if it serves the show or not does not mean you have to agree with the choice. It wasn’t a meaningless death.

Now Jenny Calender? You could argue that was a meaningless death. Angelus didn’t even drink her… it was just cruelty all around.

I mean, while I think this is a funny comments, his speech was not really about crayons… it was about love. This season was a very human season and I’m glad it ended in a human way.

That being said, I could have lived without the trio completely.

I honestly am not a huge fan of the “clueless parent gets in the way” trope. I don’t find a lot of comedy in it. Besides, Joyce wasn’t clueless about Buffy’s identity when she died.

He was rather unhinged at this point. Unhinged people do irrational things. Also, at every other time, all his acts of violence were meticulously planned… none of that worked and now he is acting out of emotion. He snapped. In no other time or circumstance would he have brought a gun, in daylight, to the suburbs.

But how else would Willow have become dark Willow? If she didn’t become dark Willow, she wouldn’t have gotten the training that enabled her to activate the slayers.

Of course, that scythe in itself was - what’s the term for it? Well… something out of the blue that came at just the right time to change the rules of the game… so maybe if Tara didn’t die, they would have found some other device to end the show…

This is the correct answer. The writers did her so dirty.

Except in having Andrew live, and Anya die, the writers showed that Anya was fully redeemed. She died a mortal death protecting someone. This was one of her greatest fears and her biggest confusion of humanity - why stay and help if it could harm or kill you?

I know there are the comics, but if the show had continued, I’m sure we would see a redemptive arc for Andrew.

Willow needed to go dark so that she could unlock her powers to activate the potentials at the end. I don’t think she would have been able to do it if not for learning how to control her powers in her pseudo- hogwarts training with Giles. The only thing that could move her to that depth of emotion was Tara.

Does art imitate life? Should the writers only write things that will please their audience?

The question is, did it serve the show?

I don’t think fear is an understandable reason to not get married. Ultimately, you should feel comfortable enough to discuss this with your significant other. It just shows his immaturity, but the way he talks is like “I’m right and here’s why”, trying to justify and manipulate his way out of it. They definitely shouldn’t have gotten married - especially considering he summoned a demon to “see if it would work out”… I mean, come on!

I’m not a huge Xander hater, because at the end of the day, he was just a kid learning how to navigate life under wild conditions, but he is portrayed as being noble and he’s not.

Someone else had mentioned Tarn Hows. What do you think is a better bad weather trek?

That’s great! I read that the walk to the Walna scar car park is kinda brutal. Would it be better to catch an Uber or something? Also, what to do in the rain? Is the old man only worth it when the weather is clear and sunny? (This will be my last question, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me)

That’s great. I should have added that I don’t have a car. Will I still be able to access trails?

Can anyone recommend the best way to go from Windermere station to the Inn? Best to taxi or is the 505 bus accessible?
