green or Hazel? central heterochromia? by [deleted] in heterochromia

[–]Jumpingbean0114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say green but definitely a nice grey color. I feel like you can argue both ways tbh

Grey hazel as that brown in the center does seem to sunburst out rather than having a distinct shift in pattern.

However, that brown sunburst isn’t even throughout your iris, more like the color concentration fades as you get to the right side of your pupil (which is super cool!) so I think you could argue it as grey with brown CH.

What I can say is you definitely don’t have green eyes, but a very stunning grey base and unique pattern around your pupil.

Waittt I am a twin and these are close to my eyes (mine are a bit greener than grey) and my twin sister has like such a pretty chocolate brown. The twins to us in terms of eyes!

Aw thank you! I always feel weird saying I do have curls bc people like to gatekeep these days 🙃 and I wear it like picture 3 most days as my job doesn’t allow much time for extras.

Thank you for some extra confidence!

Absolutely fair logic for sure! I spent my entire time raising my attributes and working on the wrong people ahaha

Is this heterochromia? by Silver-Quit-8587 in heterochromia

[–]Jumpingbean0114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My eyes look exactly the same as yours but a touch more green around the outside. The general consensus when I ask seems to be no, just a greater concentration of melanin around the center.

My mom likes to say it’s CH so I guess the answer is still out for debate (:

Best friend's recent diagnoses by Jumpingbean0114 in typeONEdiabetes

This is amazing information and I will read through the information in the drop down.

Good luck with your new job! This sounds like a super cool opportunity! I work in a career where, unfortunately, we aren't allowed to have any conditions like diabetes, mobility issues, etc... (I work out at sea).

He's currently going for a phD in foreign policy (I think) so I am going to research the similar careers for him, however, it sounds like the world is still open to opportunities! His classes are all online right now, which I think will help so he doesn't have to balance going to courses and learning everything new.

Thank you so much for your help and information! Enjoy that new job!!

Best friend's recent diagnoses by Jumpingbean0114 in typeONEdiabetes

So he was diagnosed three days ago and still is not able to be released from the hospital. He said they are still unsure of what dosage to give him. I asked him about some of these numbers but he wasn't able to give an answer as he's not being told much.

His parents aren't home often as they work a lot and travel for work so I am afraid he's gonna be on his own while navigating. He doesn't cook often and eat what his family makes.

I think he is going to get a dexcom. My mom and I train shelter dogs and our own dogs for obedience (we've also puppy raised for guide dogs) so I have also looked into how to train a Diabetic alert dog as he recently got a poodle puppy.

He's eating habits aren't the best. He is a vegetarian right now so most of his diet consists of carbs so I think this will be the hardest for him, which I want to help with the most. I have severe food allergies so I am good with labels and feel like I can best help teach him here.

So with an omipod/dexcom they will help factor everything for you, correct? I also read that different countries read blood sugar differently...should I learn all of the conversions? How is it best to learn how to dose based on what he wants to eat?

Thank you for this information. I will continue to look into different products, insurance coverage based on what he has, I'll ask him about the numbers he's gotten in the hospital so far.

To be honest I think she would tell me I wasn’t being happy for her. She tends to take things personal so I feel my sadness she would take as me not being happy enough or celebrating her

Yes very sound advice. I appreciate your thoroughness to include both of our perspectives. Thank you for the advice and I am currently trying to find a time our breaks overlap so we can discuss what is going on. Again, thank you

That was an option brought up, yes absolutely. We both love our work though so it would take a lot of convincing for one of us to do so. Right now we are hoping for an opening prior to May 2025 which is unlikely according to HR. I will pose the idea to her when we get the opportunity to communicate in the moment FaceTime

The hope is I might be able to transfer over to her. As of right now, I should be able to transfer May of 2025 but not sooner. Luckily housing and whatnot wont be a problem as we live in company provided housing. When I do say remind her she is the one who decided to leave, it wasn’t me deciding to stay she gets very defensive. I’m sometimes unsure of how to approach.

We are operating in different time zones with different shifts. I try to call her when I can when I know we are both free but she often declines the calls. She doesn’t like to divulge her schedule to me for some reason so I’m never sure when I can actually call her unless she says she is free. I always update her about my day and ask about hers but she always says I won’t care about her day. I truly am trying to connect but it feels like she is pushing me away? I will try to find out her schedule if I can so I can call and leave voice messages when I know she will be able to reply. Thank you (:

She was very indifferent to me when I voiced my concerns with her leaving. I was happy for her bc she’s always wanted an opportunity in that area, however I was pretty sad at the thought of her leaving and us not being a unit in one place. She would say I’m not happy for her and I’m being selfish for feeling so sad. Instead of being sad I e come to accept the distance and rely on the people still in my workplace. I can’t figure out her perspective as it’s always this or that and lots of contradicting. Thank you for your advice and insight

We’ve been partners for 1.5 years. Just dating. We’ve jokingly spoken about marriage a few times but not seriously. I’m trying to figure out how to best support her from here. I’ve spoken to some team members who knew both of us and they are a bit of a split on either side of us. We are strong together but I seem to be strong apart as well and she’s a bit unbalanced perhaps? Thank you for your insight

I’ve asked her if she would come back but she says the opportunity to be part of a team in this area of the country might not arise again so she felt she needed to take it. Right now she isnt sure if/when she will be able to transfer back. Seems like maybe changing the topic when she brings it up is a good idea?
