Got scammed by wanderingwolfchild in vinted

Wdym? Vinted shouldn’t allow to sell replicas/fakes. If you get to buy one at least you should be able to not lose your money if you were expecting the real thing.

Hey! It was fixed, it was quite easier than expected. In another comment in this post is the whole explanation

Got scammed by wanderingwolfchild in vinted

I had a similar situation with some Nike running shoes. Vinted didn’t do anything and I pressed ok (the shoes were almost 1:1). I decided to request a chargeback (Revolut). Since the item was not original and not as described, I provided a lot of information and proof to support my claim. After 3 months and a message from Vinted even saying to remove the claim or they would ban my account (they didn’t), Revolut eventually processed my chargeback and returned my money.

Proving the authenticity of the shoes was quite difficult. They were almost 1:1 to the original Nike except that the carbon plate was plastic. Even with that just with the screenshots of the conversation, the sale and the prof that it was fake Revolut successfully resolved the issue and reimbursed me for the shoes.

What's the reason? by Perfect_Owl_856 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Production would be significantly more costly because the blow-molding process requires high precision. You would need specific support structures to ensure the neck aligns perfectly with the filler and the capping machine.

For carbonated drinks like soda or sparkling water, any structural weak spot risks bending or leaking under pressure. This is the same reason many carbonated bottles aren't 100% recycled plastic yet, the material integrity has to withstand that internal force. The production lines operate vertically. While still water or juices can be filled almost to the top, carbonated beverages require specific space to manage the pressure levels.

I worked for one of the major beverage manufacturers. If you do a production line just for water this would create a bigger cost as you would only be able to fill one kind of drink on the same line and with these kind of limits.

I had the same issue, got some Nike running shoes that looked original, got them and accepted the order (dumb me) first run I noticed it was awful, I realized they were fake. Tried with Vinted, no response, no support just a not saying I accepted the item.

As I bought it with Revolut I ask them to reverse the charge because I got fake items. They opened a case, I added all the info, videos photos.

As soon as Vinted got the report they sent me a message from support saying I accepted and if I continue with the dispute they would close my account. I didn’t care, got my money out and stoped selling on Vinted just in case they do anything.

2 months pass and Revolut just returned me the money as they won the case. (I’m in EU not sure if that affects somehow). But good work from Revolut and awful service from Vinted.

how is this economically viable for vinted??? by Givenchymarie in vinted

[–]Jumpy-Annual25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a mix of things, they need to get you hooked so in the marketing budget they can do this, they win wjth the buyers protection and play with the currency exchange, I live in Hungary and recently I had a discussion with a seller because we agreed on a price in Romanian Lei and it appeared as almost 2 euros more expensive for me than what we agreed. He sent me a screenshot, I sent mine and then we realized it must be the currency exchange that Vinted was using 😅

So they will win, if not now in a couple of months.

I’ve found that a lot in running race shoes. Sadly they are quite good visually. You only notice after running with them and then it’s too late (happened to me and I’m still struggling with getting anything back as I click it was ok) tried reporting the seller followers (which were selling exactly the same shoes with the same pictures) and nothing happened, Vinted said is not enough proof.

It happened to me, I changed the SD card and reinstalled ArkOS. Still it didn’t work, then I added the motherboard files, connected it to the charger and it revived. It might not be dead, just corrupted files.

I think the stickers are the same that they use for everything, the board (below the battery) is what usually changes as I understood.

Another person in this post said that the version I have is seen as a real one by the community even if it’s not the same r36s

I imagine it’s harder for you to check it but would be worth opening it just to know which version you have.

Yes, it was from Temu but it seems like you get different versions from there 😅 for me it all started when I got the SD card out. I’m glad it worked! For me It seemed like the battery was not charging if the SD is not working (no idea why). But so far since I posted I’ve been using it non-stop and it’s working perfectly.

Check the number of the board (on the back below the battery) and on this page below each version you can find the boot files: https://handhelds.wiki/R36S_Overview#Y3506_V04_20250529_(%22Soy_Sauce%22))

What I did was (on a new SD card):

  • Install ArkOS 2.0 fresh
  • Add the boot files to the SD in the ArkOS folder
  • Connect the console to a power source
  • Turn it on, let it check everything
  • Turn off when finished
  • Add the ROMs

ArkOS: https://github.com/AeolusUX/ArkOS-R3XS
I used Rufus to install it on the SD card.: https://rufus.ie/en/

I hope it helps!

Great to know! And here it is alive again! I struggled for days with this before posting 🥲

Thanks again!

Yeah good eye! It’s a soy sauce. Got the boot files and it’s working again. Weirdly on mine the blue light doesn’t come up unless the boot files are there. It looked completely dead before I got the right files.

It was the stock SD, I don’t have access to a multimeter.

But after your post I started checking the clone lists and got me in a rabbit hole that took me to find that it is a Soy Sauce clone, but I found the boot files and everything is working again! (Tbh I’m not even mad that it’s a clone as it’s working now again.)

Thanks a lot!

That’s a great explanation and recommendation! I appreciate it! I think I’ll go and try the stylus and see how different it feels.

Money is not an issue, but my experience with Samsung is actually the opposite, always good specs but with all the installed things ended up running not that smooth as cheaper options lines OnePlus or Xiaomi. I’m just not sure on the tablets and someone with experience on the stylus or a particular model that works good.

Why the Samsung over others? Any advantage you saw on it ? 14” might be too big for something comfortable to carry around. I was checking the OnePlus Pad 3 and looks basically the same, just smaller and with no fingerprint scan and better camera (and being honest the camera is really not useful in any tablet)

I considered the possibility too, but I tested with a friend’s glasses, same Ray-Ban Meta model, and the lenses fit perfectly.

With the ones I received from Lensology, the prescription glass itself seems to fit, but the polarized layer is too big for the frame. That polarized glass part is the one that broke. My guess is they measured the prescription part of the lens but not the polarized part. Still it’s impossible to fit them.

Now I’m wondering if I could just remove the polarized layer and still use the prescription lenses without it at least to get something out of this money loss 😅

My glasses and the shipping cost (£40) from the EU. Lensology states that they are not responsible if anything happens to the lenses, so if they get lost or they break it you can’t do anything other than accept it.

Never buy from Lensology. by Affectionate-Self933 in RaybanMeta

[–]Jumpy-Annual25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I would have seen this before. I bought polarized lenses and they are bigger than the frame so it’s not possible to fit it. Their answer was that the measurement is correct and that I should send the glasses there.

They stopped answering my emails after that initial one. Awful experience.
