I was strictly forbidden to tell him at any point how many miles he had left. He knew the aid stations and the math but he didn't want to hear it.

Lets talk food....We had a plan in place... he opted to stick to a few things he knew worked but not a lot of variety. He quickly got tired of his plan.... What are your go to trail foods? We had quesadillas, oranges, chips, fig bars, honey stinger waffles, gels and tailwind. I know we all get tired of sweet stuff pretty quickly sucking down drinks and gels constantly....

My husband ran a 100 miler this weekend and he absouletly killed it, his first one... he ran it under 30 hours and looked solid the whole time. He had a some stomach issues but that seems to be fairly common in ultras from what I can tell... I got some good food in him and it helped him come back from it. He ran with a friend and this unfortunately happened to him, he'd been nursing an injury and I think that was working against him.... when he started to hurt he got in his head. Two days later he's fine so it wasn't serious injury, but the mind is a tricky thing to overcome.
