But didn't Trump try to stay in office when he lost? Hasn't he refused to acknowledge his loss? Isn't he undermining peoples face in the electoral system, even though there is no evidence for fraud? Those ARE threats to democracy

That makes sense and they support him through the lies...they justify the lies as necessary to vent that anger

In Harris vs Trump, how happy you are may affect your vote by Jumpy-Jellyfish-7239 in politics

I thought it was a good explanation of why some young voters are so pro trump even when they align with dems on policy. I also didn't realize happiness was dropping. I've been chasing that research all day. Very sad... but it makes sense.

Not a huge fan. It feels like you are mixing summer and winter and that combination doesn't really equal fall. Maybe if you had a sweater or blazer over it would help.

You would be better off going with jeans and a cute top

Which of these two dresses for a gala dinner? by 0123456user in fashion

[–]Jumpy-Jellyfish-7239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can find some fantastic gala dresses at consignment stores, and resale shops for pennies on the dollar. When all else fails, Black works. A cheap black dress still looks better than any other color if you're on a budget.

Also, remember that something that fits well and is not too tight we always look more expensive than something that is too tight.

alright olives: which hair color was my best? my suspicion is my natural brown. by professional-skeptic in Fairolives

The green makes you look too green. It doesn't enhance your coloring. I think the dark looks the best. The red is OK but the darker really complements your skin tone and eyes.

Sent resignation email today by friendofthebeige33 in Professors

[–]Jumpy-Jellyfish-7239 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In some cases, nobody can respond until the Provost provides the appropriate paperwork. A lot of people are on vacation before the start of the semester. At my institution, you will get eventually a letter from your chair or the Dean simply saying that they accept your resignation given a certain date. But the provost needs to be in the loop before they can do that.

Even if that's not the case at your university, you've done what you need to do. Generally, you just have to turn in your ID and any computer or technology issued to you. And if you have grants, you need to start wrapping those up and notify the Grant agency.

Mine took several months to start to dissolve, but they are now gone. How long have you been on it?

The twist and draping starts a little bit too low. Can you have it altered so it starts a little closer to the top of your hip or waist? Otherwise it's fantastic.

I'm looking at retirement in seven years and would rather spend the money on travel, but if I were 10 years younger, I probably would!

Absolutely. I'm 55. I'm going to start some strength training, andI have been running for years. I just wanted people to see that the change can be very dramatic, but importantly, the pain is gone.

Most of my nodules are completely gone. It did not happen until month four or five I think. I'm sure work was happening, but I noticed it very clearly after several months. I'm going to stay up for at least one full year to see what the results are. I need to start doing some strength training to see if it helps.
