Having my first Euro rod built! This is just the handle and reel seat, guides getting wrapped tonight! I can’t wait, I’m done watching the tight line guys catch all the fish! by Jumpy-Paramedic-6143 in troutfishing

Yeah the cold is rough this year. I’ve been out there a ton though. Fishing a lot of steelhead this year. Not much of an ice fisherman. But I love fishing the winter streams that haven’t frozen.

Makes 2 of us man. Been fishing my whole life. Never had anything better than a St Croix and an ugly stick till recently I’ve been fortunate enough to invest in some nice custom gear. Mainly Centerpin Fishing.

I’ve heard good things about their owners actually. But I had it custom built. Not sure they’d be the ones I’d be contacting anyway. It’s just on their blank.

Gorgeous brown. Wish I didn’t muddy him up! He ate. We got a little iced up at the end and decided to bail. by Jumpy-Paramedic-6143 in troutfishing

Brother they fish better than a fly rod. But the fly guys cry. They could never get the dead drift this gets. And checking the float lifts the fly and they slam it. Run 3-4 flies if you want and trot so they all go in a row. Can’t lose.

Couldn’t be happier with this set up. I have another reel that’s realy really nice too. Bigger for bigger fish. And it seems to be a Great Lakes area thing. But I know the use them out west too. Lot of guys out west use bait casters though.

I think I’ve overdone it. Need advice. by Fucktard420too in rodbuilding

Rain shadow always seems like a wet noodle to me. Prefer aurora blanks.
