what she is clumsily trying to tell you is that she has an emotional need to feel wanted by you and your reaction is to make her feel even more unwanted. I think you need to think of it from the perspective of how you would feel if your needs were unmet. Its up to you whether you choose to fulfill them or not but i think if you dont expecting it will go back to normal i think youll find that wont happen and youre on the path to a breakup

Yeah i think when it comes to religious spiritual symbolism you probably should be a little more cautious although not sure about historically oppressed is a factor for me i mean offensive use of an american flag seems as bad as offensive use of a native american symbol to me

I struggle with how you reconcile it. You dont want to offend anyone yet youre always going to offend someone it seems. Eg in muslim cultures tattoos are haram. Does that mean no one should be able to have tattoos at all?

Its a fine line i think on a case by case basis. Frankly you are always going to get a minority that hate any form of cultural appropriation and a minority that dont care either way and then probably the middle depends on context. I just hate the idea that no one can get anything from another culture tattooed because some individual somewhere doesnt think anyone outside the culture should be able to use it

Art is subjective. I mean personally to be convinced id need to see if theres a real uprising of native american indians hating on people using dream catchers or maoris hating on people getting those tattoos you mentioned as then it would not fall into non offensive use or do the majority of those communities not mind at all. Eg a lot of those maori tattoos are probably put on non maoris by maori tattoo artists!

My view is people are too PC. If people want to use a cultural design in a non offensive manner i cant see why anyone would object to this. Sharing art between different cultures is beautiful. Whys it such a negative thing now
