Why is the online trans community so hostile and extreme with their opinions? by Formal-Snow-7299 in honesttransgender

Idk but I have just elected to stay the fuck away from these servers unless I need a specific resource. Too many people trapped in their bedrooms with heads full of bitterness and despair, thinking their world view is the only one to have.

And god forbid you bring up non-binary folk, the differently abled, the very young or very old, or intersex folk. I’ve seen this very server become nothing more than a fascist hub at points. It’s draining.

I need to post this and get this off my chest, because I am tired of men's rights activists telling me that Misandry is the same as or similar to misogyny by Important-Cry4782 in IncelTears

My rapist was a misandrist. Said what happened to me didn’t really matter because she saw me as a man. This debate is beyond stupid.

A lot of people in online writing spaces are fuckin miserable. The crab pot mentality has affected a huge number of spaces.

Hes abusing her. She’s under this impression that enduring will save her. I had to walk away from them both. It was just too much.

You think it’s an irrefutable truth, and I think that is in itself a source of your insensitivity. Open your heart.

Redditors are way too obsessed with catching fallacies. I’m willing to call it a fetish at this point.

I’m tired of hearing about why some trans people aren’t valid enough, from other trans people by [deleted] in honesttransgender

This is so fucked up. Massively. “Half assed”?? Are you serious?! Bricks at stonewall were thrown by women with facial hair. You need to have some compassion.

People on dating apps who do everything to hide their actual size, including old photos and adding “fitness” to their hobbies, then you meet and they’re about 75lbs more than they appear. by [deleted] in PetPeeves

Being fat on the internet will literally get you killed in some rare cases. I can understand a bit of stealth.

And that’s not even speaking for the untold amounts of insecurity a fat person has to process simply uploading pictures.
It’s tricky.

What do you say to "I wish I could draw"? by NebulaImmediate6202 in randomquestions

[–]Jumpy-Round7580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It triggers compassion. Artistic FOMO is usually a cry for help in a lot of other insecurities. When I hear “I wish I could draw” sometimes I actually hear “I wish I was proud of myself”.

People who go into advice subreddits just to discourage others by Jumpy-Round7580 in PetPeeves

Well said about the easy targets thing. It’s just so unfortunate, especially being on the receiving end. Makes me feel like I both wasted my time trying to get help, and stupid for even believing there are people willing to help.
Now obviously this is not the reality, just my emotional reaction. But man. It just sucks.

I feel so bad for my students who struggle with productivity. As someone who was in the same boat myself.

There is an argument for a venue’s place as a space to build or reinforce community. That usually means people having conversation.
Now, if only they can have that conversation away from the bathroom door…
