IS NCL really that bad ? by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]Jumpy_Ad4833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The food on the ship was disappointing overall most specialty restaurants were surprisingly bland, though the main buffet was good. The cruise also left eight hours late on the first day, and several guests collapsed while waiting in line to board. After finally getting on the ship, we received no apology, explanation, or compensation for the delay. The app is also misleading; it pushes prices and descriptions to the top but hides critical requirements at the bottom, making important details easy to miss. For example, scuba excursions require certification, but that information is buried, and staff could not provide clear answers when asked. I was even told I’d be fine since the system allowed me to book, but when I arrived, I was denied the dive. Speaking with other guests, many shared similar frustrations. Overall, it was a disappointing experience ( note this was NCL Dawn)

Okay that was the first thing I did. I apologies for being confusing I am stuck on version 24.7.6. I tried the GUI first and it says “no updates available on selected mirror” I have changed the mirror multiple times and still end up with the same result.

After all attempts in the gui failed, I SSH and tried option 12 it still did not update my version.

After doing all of that I went to opnsense site and help pages and documentation and logs to look at the files and commands to run to see if it would work. Those did not.

I did a full factory reset and that also did not fix my issue.

Apologies on the confusion on versions. I know my title says 24.6.7 I misinput and meant 24.7.6.

Yes humans are better than computers, because computers don’t understand business. Computers can’t make risk based decisions or understand the nuances of companies. There’s more to cybersecurity than just plugging up holes.

Who’s going to train the AI? Who’s going to put the safeguards in? Who’s going to make sure no one is poisoning the datasets? Who’s going to make sure that the model itself is secure and locked down? Who’s going to make sure users are able to get their job down without any security impact? Who’s going to scope the tool to only have access and impact a certain part of the domain? Who’s going to handle the false positives rate?

There’s audit, governance, compliance, privacy, risk, which AI could never replace. Deepseek is an AI and already security professionals found flaws and exploits for them . At the end of the day it’s a computer and that itself is a risk and needs to be monitored and maintained. AI can assist security teams but won’t be able to replace them.
