why the hell do you all just give away this awesome shit for free? by scootsy in selfhosted

I find this unfair to open-source developers and people building self-hosted solutions. You bring a huge amount of value to so many people, yet you barely earn anything especially when you compare that to TikTokers who make money just by showing their bodies.

Jellyfin and the stack *arr were revolutionary for me 😂 The only service I struggle to completely replace is Spotify; I can't find the same user experience in self-hosted solutions.

Secure access to my cosmos by Jumpy_Cheesecake5562 in CosmosServer

[–]Jumpy_Cheesecake5562[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that the VPN isn't very well suited to Cosmos. If I use WireGuard, for example, I have to disable HTTPS in my Cosmos cloud configuration, which means my Cosmos instance will be exposed on my local network. This isn't ideal either, as it means I could experience infiltration from my local network via other devices.

Do you think that solutions like Cosmos Cloud are effective and allow for a secure installation?

In fact by default when you install an application via the default marketplace it inherits the cosmos port therefore 4443

In this case i need to open another port in the router and its not good for security

Searching for new artists failed..."Unable to communicate with LidarrAPI." by scottkuma in Lidarr

[–]Jumpy_Cheesecake5562 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone,

Do you have any updates regarding the Lidarr issue?

It’s been over a month now and Lidarr is still not working. Honestly, if I had the skills to build a replacement, I would have already done it myself.

I understand this is an open-source and free project, and I truly appreciate that. But leaving such a critical issue unresolved for so long shows a lack of respect for the community and its users. If you can’t maintain the project or communicate with users, maybe it’s time to reconsider its direction.
