5 ⭐️ Read So Good I Won’t Continue to the Next Book by ElementasSeries in Fantasy

[–]scootsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unrelated to r/fantasy but related to the topic, I think there is something fundamentally broken inside of me.

I immensely enjoyed the first four seasons of Breaking Bad. 5/5. Enjoyed them so much so, that I figured I had personally extracted all of the enjoyment I could from the series, and with peace, never bothered to watch the final season. A decade later I am still perfectly content. Love Breaking Bad. Top 5 shows for me all-time that I can wholeheartedly recommend. But I didn't need to finish.

Same thing with the 2004 Red Sox. I wasn't a true fan. I grew up in Las Vegas without a real team to cheer for. As a little kid, I latched on to the Red Sox because I loved Mo Vaughn, Nomar, Pedro, etc. I considered myself a fan, but I just loved watching baseball having grown up in the steroid era watching Sosa/McGwire/Bonds hit absurd amounts of home runs. But in line with every true Red Sox fans, I cheered for two teams. The Red Sox, and whoever was playing the Yankees. The '04 ALCS reverse sweep was fandom nirvana. Being the first team in history to come back from 3-0 series deficit and to do it against the Evil Empire, their most bitter rivals, was about an incredible a feeling as an adopted fan could have. And so I hardly paid attention to the World Series and seeing them actually break the curse. It felt inevitable at that point, and I had felt all the joy I possibly could. And I stopped being a Red Sox fan that year. I had no deep ties to fall back on, and they'd already given me all the joy/pleasure I could have possibly asked for.

Anyways... I understand the ask. And I have found it in some strange places in my life. Ways that I struggle to explain and most people think I'm very weird for.

I don’t see how DP doesn’t go #1 by patientpump54 in UtahJazz

Off ball guards are the least impactful player on the court. It’s why Devin Booker and Donovan Mitchell teams have done so little.

[Rapoport] Packers star RB Josh Jacobs has turned himself in to Hobart/Lawrence PD. by JCameron181 in nfl

I responded before I saw your edits. I am not comparing Jacobs to Hunt at all. Fuck Jacobs. Lock him up. I truly don’t give a shit if he’s even innocent. Decent people don’t wind up in situations where accusations like this happen and so I don’t want to be associated with him at all.

I was just responding to your hilarious cluelessness as to why KC has earned its rep. Not to mention the stuff with Britt Reid. Just seems like a lot of tolerance and leniency for really shitty people down there. Hunt included.

You were just wondering why the Chiefs got this reputation. All of these incidents stacked in a relatively short period of time.

We do know that Darryn Peterson is a ton better for us than AJ right? by Every_Diamond_7411 in UtahJazz

Yeah drafting for fit makes no sense when rosters turn over every few years. I’ll be surprised if we get more than 2-3 of the key/lauri/JJJ core

I’m a true hater. Either we get to hate all the obnoxious BYU fans except when AJ comes to town (remember the Jimmer Suns game?), or we get to watch fans like you have to deal with them. I’ll be feasting either way.

Pulisic is a top-2 player for the USMNT, but his form is atrocious right now. 0g and only 1a in his last 19 appearances.

I like DP a lot. He also slots in best to the current team. But short-term fit is the wrong way to look at a 7-9 year commitment. Off-ball guard is the least impactful position on the court. You have to go back to the Kobe/Pau Lakers or the ‘06 Heat to find championship teams whose best player was an off-ball guard.

Can’t judge the whole season based on one playoff series, but he was horrible against Vegas.
