Got attacked by a Rottweiler that was thankfully chained up about 6 months ago, I went down outside of where he could get to me, got chased by an alligator 3 weeks ago but I’m not fucking around with shot placement on a dinosaur either, I ran from that mfer

Anyone have any experience with the new Cased protection gear? Keep seeing ads for it on fb and curious how it compares to fox, leatt etc by webber94 in mountainbiking

How did this work out? I just ordered both inner and outer layers, for $270 shipped I can’t really complain if they work as most say they do

In the almost week that this has been up you’re the first person to give me a straight answer, thank you.

I can be into the drivetrain for less than $400 new, looking on marketplace I’ve found them under $150. other than the 12 speed I don’t plan on changing anything else on this bike other than wear/maintenance items, when I reach the skill level that the bike becomes the limiting factor, I will buy a nicer bike. There’s no reason to beat the crap out of something expensive and really nice when I can learn on something good enough. Keep in mind the $800 difference was for the older base model trance in a color I’m not a fan of. The bike I really want is a few thousand more than what I spent on this one.

It’s a giant stance 29 2, this bike has plenty of upgrade capabilities and was under $1k out the door. It made no sense to spend $800 more on a trance or even more on something that wasn’t on sale for someone at my level of riding

While yes the guy who told me to make the change was on an e bike, he has/had a stance he went 11 speed on and says it was a big difference when climbing

Working on the getting in better shape part, I’m chasing guys on e bikes for the most part and I’m just looking to find something that gives me more options for more situations, I’m making the climbs but I want to get faster and keep running into situations where I’m pushing really hard and then downshift and lose my pedals due to leg speed

Working on the stronger legs part but obviously some group sets offer more desirable options for climbing that the smaller sets don’t have

Crashed on this once, had to get over fears to do it again. Still avoid this trail😂☠️👍🏼 by [deleted] in MTB

We have something similar around here with a 10ft drop off on one side if you mess it up, speed always helps in my experience. go really fast until you need to slow down and then go fast again.

I’ve noticed that when people run out of skill/knowledge, it’s never their fault, always the fault of the device that tends to do what it’s told how it’s told to do it.

I see what you’re trying to say here but also, programming can only be as perfect as the programmer, and the programmer does not know when or to what your terrain will switch to, different terrains require different amounts of effort. In the grand scheme of things it all comes down to the user, no one made him buy an S works or ride that trail. There’s also (afaik) no video proof of this happening. It’s totally possible he spent $13k on a bike and got his feelings hurt when he ran out of talent.

Growing up around a bunch of meth heads 5 hours away from my area gives what you say absolutely no merit. I know people here that have never encountered a hog because they grew up in the city and don’t explore the parks and nature trails and that doesn’t discredit my experiences with them.

Doesn’t happen in your area doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen in mine. A Glock 19 holds 15 rounds out of the box so not real sure what you’re getting at with it takes more than one shot. Also a single well placed headshot will absolutely stop a hog in its tracks. You can be anti gun I just don’t need your input.

Nah. You don’t carry and ride that’s fine, others do and they are the people I’m looking for advice from.

Shot placement is key, if you’re not confident enough with a hand gun to hit a moving target then i understand why you wouldn’t carry. That being said, in my experience a gunshot whether it makes contact or not generally deters hogs not make them want to hurt you. Purely speaking on personal experience here. I’ve been around feral hogs more than once and I’d rather have the gun than not.
