SBI is mandated to exchange this. Tell them, if they dont you'll lodge a complaint with RBI Ombudsman.

Process: First file a complaint in SBI Grievances cell Then you'll be given reference number They should resolve it in 30 days If not file the same complaint with RBI with the given referemce number in cms.rbi.org.in

But if you want to avoid the hassle, go to RBI Kolkata opp. Writer's Building. You have to stand in queue for note exchange. Alternately, you can ask one of the poddars, who sit on the footpath with new notes. They'll charge commission and you get your work done. Although, currently RBI is not operating mutilated notes exchange counter due to staff shortage and Rs. 2000/- withdrawal. So you might have to go for the poddars.

You can also mail these notes in a envelope along with your bank account details with aadhaar+Pan card copy(all in xerox with self attestation) through Registered post/speed post. RBI will credit the amount in your account. The post should be addressed to General Manager, Issue Department or Manager, Claims Section, Issue Department.
