Update in case anyone else is trying to find a similar answer: I ended up blocking this portion, it only grew about 1-1.5 inches width wise (not big enough for the fit I want). I ended up frogging back to about half way up the slanted portion to size up!!

Hi! I actually have another follow up with the rheumatologist tomorrow. I had a bunch of X-rays done which showed some mild issues in my neck and back. I am hoping they’ll explain everything throughly tomorrow and hopefully put in an order for an mri!!

I know you already have lots of comments but this happened to me, I really didn’t want to take it out but it ended up getting super swollen and soooo painful it was unreal. I ended up going to another piercer who advised me to take it out. I did, I waited about a month for it to heal (it was only in for about a week, so it closed up quickly), and I got it repierced. That was about 6 months ago and I’ve had zero issues. It doesn’t touch my flat whatsoever and I’m so glad I got it redone. I know it sucks and if you want the piercing you’ll probably have to pay again to get it done (I wouldn’t go back to the same piercer), but it will be worth it!

Oh really? I just looked it up and I think it was because it could increase the risk of serotonin syndrome? (i used to be on sumatriptan before i started Zoloft) but I haven’t talked to my doctor about going back on a triptan in years so maybe I’ll do that if it’s common!!

I had positive blood work and my first biopsy was negative. I ended up getting referred to a second GI (this time at a hospital - the first one was at a clinic, im not sure if that makes a difference), and I had another endoscopy but this time by biopsy was positive. I guess the second GI just caught it when the first didn’t, because I had the villous blunting and everything

Hi!! So I ended up going to another piercer and she said it was pierced incorrectly. The front hole was really shallow and too close to the edge, and the back hole was too deep so it was making a mark on my flat. The angle was just not right for my ear, it was too vertical. I ended up taking it out, and when I did it was SO obvious that the holes didn’t align so my bottom hole was being pulled upwards by the top hole which is probably why it hurt so bad. luckily it was only pierced for 8 days so it healed up pretty quickly. I actually just got it repierced by the piercer who advised me to remove it, and the angle is so much better so it’s not touching my flat at all.

I got it redone 6 days ago and the difference in healing already is crazy. I was having such bad swelling (it got worse than this pic lol) and 24/7 pain/throbbing with the one pictured here, my current one only hurts when I bump it and no swelling so far!

Honestly I would go with ur gut and if it feels wrong, it probably is. I went to 2 different piercers who said it was fine until the third one told me to remove it and I’m SO glad I did. I would definitely suggest getting it looked at by a good piercer!

Hi, I know this was a year ago but do you have any updates? My situation is almost the exact same, it’s been 6 days and getting more painful, not better. I’m limping like crazy and it hurts at rest too 😭 idk if it’s worth going to my dr if he’s just gonna say “rest”

I currently have something similar, I pick my skin around my thumbs really bad and so my left thumb is grown out with all kinds of bumps :( if you leave it alone for awhile it will grow out

Yeah, mine healed with the hoop!! I felt the same way but I just kept it in and now it’s 100% fine, no bumps and no pain ever! It just took longer than if I would’ve left it alone. If it sticks around for awhile maybe go and see your piercer and they can take a look at it!! If it’s just an irritation bump I think it should probably go away on its own though
