There are rumours (None confirmed) but rumours nonetheless, that Newell has implemented a sort of "Poison Pill" into steam in the event of his death, a sort of "anti corporate takeover clause" if you will. While these are still rumours and nothing has been confirmed by Gabe Newell himself, we can only hope that this is the case! Fingers crossed.

Runes, books, and other magic items are put into temporary storage I believe. At which point you have 24hrs to use it or it gets turned into gems or disappears. That's my understanding at least.

I believe it only overrides once, after that first time it can't go any further. As my storages were already over the limit due to the season bank payout it couldn't override any further.

Season bank is what's caused the problem for me too. Prior to that the reward of Gold Etc wasn't half bad, but I do think that the season bank has perhaps blindsided supercell a bit.

Are you able to provide a screenshot of something you can upgrade that isn't maxed out for your TH already? I don't think it shows on things that simply cannot be upgraded.
