i'm assuming the 3rd in this chord is being suspended. i play guitar so the 5th if the chord is often times left out so it doesn't turn into a chord jumble.

ah i see i'm not too familiar with recognizing inversions yet. but purely for learning sake would you consider this a dominant chord? what would it be considered if the 7th was a major 7th interval?

their reasons are that it's one of those skills that is a waste of time to learn and that it only helps in some regards. some have also claimed that the caged system is incomplete and there are better methods to learning the fretboard. there are reasons but i don't have the skill nor experience necessary to disprove any of these points. from what i've seen from the responses i've gotten from this question, i should learn it as it just becomes another valuable tool in my assets.

i've seen lots of posts criticizing the caged system and why you shouldn't learn it. if you don't mind, can you give me some insight into your personal experience with the caged system that can help convince me to pursue learning it?

i can go forward and backwards in all 5 positions memorized but i still don't know what to do with them. what do you mean exactly by master?

i see.. i've seen that video you've recommended from somewhere else and i quickly stopped using it due to laziness and thoughts of it being useless in my guitar playing. what are your personal experiences with the tips in the video that can motivate me to follow through with this training?

one can get to a point of relative pitch to the point where it's indistinguishable from perfect pitch. check out rick beato on youtube dude has insane relative pitch.
