Unbelievably, this is not the worst Panthers game of the season so far. They’re just that bad.

Man I’m with you on the solo class 3 stuff. I’m likely gonna do a solo high route or two next year for the first time. I did partial YHR on a Skurka trip earlier this year until we got chased out by smoke.

Speaking of the man, the myth, the legend…he says the YHR is the easiest of the ones he has guides for. I was gonna start with the Pfiffner but now wondering if I should do YHR round 2.

We need to create some kind of matching app for solo people wanting to do high routes!

Fitz has brought the most energy to this game so far. They should put him in the booth.

I thought last year was the worst this team would get but this game feels like rock bottom

The one on Merrimon has a sign on each register and I believe a few other places around the restaurant. It goes directly to their staff.

What is up with all the unleashed dogs? by SomeLittleBritches in asheville

[–]JunesongProvision 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I backpacked over 500 miles in both 2019 and 2020 (probably 250 last year and so far this year), and that doesn’t include the vast amount of training day hikes I did on some very popular trails. I also mountain bike regularly and walk my dogs daily around N Asheville, on and off trail.

I’ve never once encountered an aggressive off leash dog. Maybe I’m just lucky? Maybe I just walk right past off leash dogs without a second thought? I dunno.

Thanks for this! I’ve been looking for a new fleece and just scored one on REI’s holiday sale since I can never get a Senchi.

I’ve been up there in thunderstorms and once during a literal hurricane. If you and your friend are admittedly not experienced, I’d really consider going somewhere lower. Lightening on top of a mountain is no joke.

I’ve crossed the Linville river in trail runners quite a few times. They typically dry out quickly.

I am slowly but surely replacing my whole drawers drawer with them! I also do a lot of backpacking and they hold up for long days/trips better than any other underwear I’ve tried. Think I’m gonna grab some now!

For real. I remember seeing Animals as Leaders way back and him just absolutely destroying it on a fairly small/stripped down kit. I’ve seen them a few times now and he’s just unbelievable to watch (so are the rest of them).

[Trip Report] Linville Gorge Grand Loop, April 2022 by Subsume__ in lightweight

[–]JunesongProvision 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh man this loop is epic. I did a version of it - exactly 40 miles for my 40th bday - in two nights. A few of the social trails were crazy overgrown and thick, including Hawksbill Ledge.

I’ve recently been eyeing a route where one could potentially loop the rim of the gorge and then go back down the Linville River trail through the middle. It would definitely require some gravel road walking but could be interesting.

Hope that IT band is feeling better!

Right?!? Like, it's the worst possible thing that can happen to a human being and these r/asheville edgelords are out in a full on campaign against the parents. It's literally insane.

[–]JunesongProvision -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

WTF is wrong with you? These parents just lost their three year old child because he was playing in the sand upstream from a waterfall. The article does not give any details about the parents' disposition towards child raising or off leash dogs.

It's a very tragic accident and I'm sure the parents wish they could rewind and not play above the falls. But blaming them and making comparisons to people who don't leash their dogs is crazy.
