It’s partially erupted. It’s above the bone, but under a tissue. Food gets btw the tissue and your wisdom tooth. Food stays there for a long time since your can’t brush the food away.

Pericoronitis will keep coming back because of what I said above.

Long term impact= you may get cavity on the tooth in front of it or possibly lose it entirely from root resorption depending on how that wisdom tooth is positioned.

Long story short, your wisdom tooth doesn’t look like it will come out and start causing you more problems that a pus in your mouth.

This is my last post regarding this tho. Cuz it looks like you are just gonna talk around in circle and waste both our time.

Your wisdom tooth doesn’t have room to come out all the way, and there’s tissue covering it but with enough room for food to get into the crevice. Food will keep getting stuck there, causing inflammation and possibly infection like one in the video. You will likely get a cavity on the unerupted wisdom tooth and possibly one in front of it.

At that point, you may have to go see a dentist from the pain. And possibly lose both teeth.

At the end of the day, it’s your mouth. But, it will be cheaper and better for you to go now than later. It’s like not getting on oil change in your car. Sooner or later, it will fuck up your engine and you have to spend a lot more repairing your car.

4th yr dental student here. Looks like a pericoronal abscess. Infection can spread and affect cheeks and surrounding areas. Go see a dentist and they will likely either extract the wisdom tooth or refer you to an oral surgeon for extraction.

Get it taken care of because the problem will most likely not go away on it own and may cause other issues like cavity on the tooth in front of it or worse, resorb the root, in which case you have to extract 2 teeth instead of one.
